Yes, I’ve had to do four missed approaches in a row due to wind, and I’ve seen someone do six before going somewhere else. A steady crosswind is no problem, but combined with wind shears it gets tricky. Maybe BHM should consider another runway? ;-)

Those bumps and humps you see are an effect of compressing a runway that is 3000 meters (1.8 miles) (according to Google) into an image the width of your screen. Normal gentle changes in elevation of the ground appear highly exaggerated.

The crosswinds and related shears are two factors, complicated by an uneven runway that makes it difficult to plant the wheels where you want them. Just as you think you’ll grease it in, the runway drops away or comes up fast.

If for some odd reasons you really want a new Renault, you can buy one in Canada and import it
