Thank you. That comment was off the charts douchey. Yours was hilarious.

Witch Hunt is canon. I've never seen anything indicative of it not being canon.

Except, that's not true at all, Mmmmz. Thoughts like that perpetuate unfair stigmas against people suffering from addiction of any type. What you said was very callous and unfeeling.

Subscriptions dropped because CCP was neglecting EVE in favor of a new, microtransaction centered direction. It had nothing to do with a Hulkageddon.

Unless it's a complete failure, I think the chances of Dust going down before the PS3 are pretty slim. EVE's been in constant operation since 2003, after all.

I'm in the "want a sequel" camp. A crappy sequel won't tarnish the original in anyway, and as you said, I still want to explore the world that the original set up. And yeah, the soundtracks were great. I use at least five or six different TWEWY songs as rotating ringtones on my phone.

At this point, I'm just replying to say that we're having this exact same discussion on the AVClub, aren't we, Girard/bakana? If you're not Girard though, someone posting on the same subject, using nearly the exact same phrasing is on the AVClub. What a small internet world.

I honestly didn't find any of BSG hokey except for a few rushed plots. I think nearly everything about it was masterfully crafted (especially the acting, score, direction, and special effects), except, of course, for the plot which was hastily wrapped up, and obviously never mapped out. There's no real way to persuade

If you consider the reimagined BSG to be trash, what exactly is good television? I'd consider BSG to be one of the best shows of all time, even when you take into account the rushed ending. It's up there with stuff like Breaking Bad and Arrested Development.

It's not the same as EVE Online. Dust 514 is going to be a microtransaction based game. EVE lets you trade game time cards for in-game money, but doesn't have any non-vanity microtransactions that generate game assets.

If you're the one fucking around with other people, it's still "Do whatever you want." You have to have a certain amount of savvy to get into that position though. More, really, than any other game.

Any item in EVE can be stolen including gametime cards. Once it's an item in EVE, it's treated like anything else. It's just, as I said, I don't think many EVE players care very much about clothing (though I may be wrong). That, and the fact that through a promotion a few months ago, CCP gave everyone enough

Vanity items, such as clothing, can be traded (but not destroyed if installed in a character). The reason you probably haven't heard much about trades or scams involving them is simply the fact that not a hell of a lot of EVE players really care about vanity items in their current incarnation. It's possible that if

Honestly, twobeef, that only happens (most of the time) if you're playing carelessly or if you're looking for a fight. Don't take that as an insult though as the game is very difficult, and making mistakes as a new player is a natural learning process.

Exactly. So many people get this simple fact wrong.

EVE is anything you want it to be. If you want to just fight, you can do that pretty easily. If you want to be an industrial pilot, you can do that as well. There's no pre-defined limits on gameplay, unlike other MMORPGs.

PLEX is not the same, at all, as microtransactions that generate game-affecting items. All items introduced into the EVE game world that affect the game are generated by someone, somewhere doing actual work, and playing the game. This makes the most valuable resource in EVE time. MTs that spontaneously generate

@thegooseking: Valve said before the TF2 shop opened that the free content updates were paid for through sales of TF2 that were boosted by the "free" advertising that came with updates.

It was one of the best adventure games of all time, MrLebowski.

@interkin3tic: The military's budget being slashed is the least plausible thing about the game sadly.
