@Steve U: Avodart might have a say on that, after trademarking the term "QuickiLeaks."

@AntoineWalker: +1. I don't even care about what John Salley had to say.

This article is a little misleading—Simon (and her associates) actually isolated the bacterium first, then gradually weaned it off of phosphorous and onto arsenic. The way it's written makes it seem like they found the arsenic-subsisting bacteria in Mono Lake.

@timgray: I'm using a 580ex on my 40D with good glass, but for the life of me I can't get warm photos indoors with flash. If it's dark inside, flash works very well (and obviously necessary), but if there's enough ambient light, even bouncing it off the ceiling looks weird. Should I be stopping my flash down more?

Recorded on an iPad, then transferred to a ProTools HD system for mixing, and an analog desk for mastering?

@N@tedog: +1. the puppy did it!

Dong-obsessed dong hears dong mentioned on DongCenter.

@YourSaltyPinkDeathNuts: Thank you. Good points. My only retort is the MBA comes with a USB drive with an OSX restore copy on it. Plus, the Apple Store will usually fix simple software/OS issues for you for free, even if your warranty has expired.

*facepalm* at all the people comparing specs in here. Seriously, don't compare a super-lightweight, super-thin metal laptop with your college textbook-sized 17" HP behemoth. I don't care if your laptop was cheaper. Just... stop it. You're not getting the point.

@Master_Soda: LosAngelitos turn their noses up at house. =( "what is this mm-tz mm-tz music?" "no... all music is 4/4, just... it's electronic music, you go on computers to communicate, you use computers for photography, you use computers for Illustrator... why are you all so critical when people use computers for

@MaxPoint: I know that already. You and everybody else in the US. *sigh* (house music producer here).

@MaxPoint: D Ramirez. Good producer, decent DJ. UK house music guy. *shrug*

Props if you know who this is. His Underworld remix was solid last year.

@YardanCabaret: So your computer is over 5 years old, and you expect your programs and OS to be backwards compatible? That's kind of shaky ground for your argument (that a new $99 OS and yearly program upgrades are necessary).

@kgetz: "Man whore" sounds funnier than just "whore," and is used to specify. Have you ever heard of the term "woman whore"? Do you find the term "man purse" as misogynistic? (Think of all the female purses out there!)

@YardanCabaret: 1) Snow Leopard was $29. 2) I know people still using 10.4 Tiger, and getting by just fine. One just upgraded to Snow Leopard ($29) so he could install Starcraft 2 on his Macbook Pro.

@CMYKfellow: Gizmodo is more of a tech culture website than many other strictly tech websites out there. If you care so much about specific technology, go read Anandtech (not bashing that site, I <3 it) and company press releases. Gizmodo reported on an internet poll on what people like. Many of these people are our

Once I install these, the number of cables behind my computer will go from 23 to 18. This idea won't help much unless they do this with USB cables, Firewire cables, MIDI cables, mouse/keyboard cables, audio cables, HDMI cables, etc.
