I use freeze dried meats when doing that on the trail. So long as I reseal the packet it comes in they will last forever.

In PA the fines can range from $200 - $1000 each time for not clearing off the car. Heck in my college town of Clarion; I swear the local police are trying to save up for a some new cruisers at the rate people get pulled over for this violation.
