Why? Because not enough citizens are writing letters to their elected representatives on a recurring basis to let them know that it’s important.

Thank goodness I am not the only Old here that remembers The Bugs Bunny Road Runner show, Scooby-doo, and everything I grew up with in the 70's and 80's. And I still love Schoolhouse Rock to this day! As well as the original Electric Company on PBS.
Now I feel really old, given that this was my Saturday morning jam:
I’m happy to raise my daughter watching cartoons from sources like Netflix. She doesn’t have to watch one single commercial. Not one.
When my brother and I were little, Saturday mornings were for cartoons and chilling, at least when we didn’t have various sports events to attend. My parents would sleep in (or get frisky, probably) and we got to have hours of unsupervised fun, unlike Sundays which meant a stretch of oh-so-boring church services. I am…
Cartoons are on 24x7 on all those cartoon/Disney/Nick channels. If you’re looking at traditional network TV, you’re old and out of touch like CBS sitcoms and cop shows.
Zoom! Christ, I’m old.
Don’t forget Schoolhouse Rock! One of the happier moments of my adult life was when I treated myself to a set of ALL the Schoolhouse Rocks (ostensibly for the kidlet, but I’m pretty sure the entire family knew who it was really for). Especially since I take great pride in being one of the few people I knew who can…
Haha I’m concerned Donald Trumps voice is the only one I can speak in anymore. Jezebel commenting has broken me.
I still watch cartoons every day of the week. No one can stop me!
I used to get up early on Saturday mornings to watch Cartoons—way before my parents would wake up. As I recall the earliest show was Mighty Mouse, and then it went on all morning long. I don’t think my mom would plan anything before noon on Saturdays because it would cut into cartoon time.
Its really creepy beause if you just focus on the place where her arm meets her torso, it looks like that is her shoulderbone, on her back. But then it merges into her breastbone. Aaaaarrrgh! Back to front arm!
That Elle cover looks bizarre, though. Something about the lines of her arms and where the armpit falls- it’s like someone moved them? Very uncanny valley.
It sounds like Pogge can’t cant kant.
No snark here. I just wish I wasn’t so often amazed when people do the right thing.
As one of the signatories, I am so glad to see that Jezebel is covering this.
Yes, because the school itself ignored the situation for as long as they could. An “open secret” and supervisors knowing about it and even warning students is not the same as an official action by Yale. By their inaction the school endorsed this creep’s activities.
while a university turns a blind eye
I took a class with Professor Pogge at Columbia in the late 80's. I was a Barnard student, and he "joked" that all the Barnard students would drop his class within two weeks, the idea being that we were dumber than Columbia students. His teaching sucked. I got my first migraine in that class from stress. Luckily my…
I’m not familiar with this case, but I can certainly confirm that this kind of situation is a thing that happens all too commonly. I know that my department had its very own Dirty Old Man, who had a habit of sexually harassing female students, grad students in particular. Many complaints were made over the years, but…
