I think the best part of the doc was when Paul Haggis was discussing the big reveal of the whole Xenu business. He said he was sure it was a mental illness test, that if you believed it they would throw you out. NOPE!

I keep saying the same thing over and over because it’s correct

Glad to know. So, in your professional opinion, if I keep my child locked in the basement for 16 years, it’s not abuse so long as I truly believe it’s in their best interest?

The thing is, all that crazy stuff about Xenu is not something you hear about until you’ve pissed away so much money, and spent so much time agreeing to being brainwashed, that when you finally get to find out about it, you are so personally invested in the church that leaving is unthinkable.

What kind of professional are you that thinks abuse requires intent.

If by “cogent” you mean “dismissive of the nature of her parents actions”, then yes, you made a “cogent” argument. Unfortunately, one cannot make a logical argument while being dismissive of facts. They psychologically and emotionally tortured their daughter, then continued their transphobic behaviour after her death.

You just keep saying the same thing over and over again without making an actual argument to back any of it up though, which is bad because your statements fall apart under the slightest scrutiny.

Churches are granted tax-exempt status because it was argued that taxation represented government impediment of free religious expression. And while it pisses me off that so many use their faith as an excuse for dickishness, it is their right and such rights should be defended (but not dickishness; fuck dickishness).

So your argument is because other groups did terrible things in the past we should not hold accountable people doing terrible things now?

Why make cogent arguements when you can resort to ad hominem, amirite? I would give your concern-trolling on this thread a 4/10. 3 for persistence, 1 for content :-) Keep it up! You’ll get there!

I have read all the words you have written, and it seems clear to me that you would very much like all of us to forget that her family is choosing to erase this dead child’s identity and move on with our little lives and leave these bigots in peace. No. That is not okay. I won’t do it. It is not just a name on a

its not a church, its a cult.

YES! I think that was first got me into finding out more about Scientology, when there was the whole thing with Isaac Hayes quitting.

I read that book a few years ago and it’s just astonishing what those people are allowed to get away with. Have you ever seen the South Park episode parodying Scientology where they have a banner that says “THIS IS WHAT SCIENTOLOGITS ACTUALLY BELIEVE”? I thought it was a joke but nope, 100% accurate.

Alcorn’s parents don’t get a pass because they are grieving. An abuser still grieves the death of his child.

and it is not fair that her parents saw her death as an opportunity to forget the person she really was.

Why don’t you just worry about your own life, and leave others alone?

Because you think it's okay for them to misgender Leelah in death, even though that is precisely what drove her to death in the fucking first place.

You don’t find that horribly disrespectful to her memory? Because I and all of my trans friends do. One said she would rather be in a mass grave with no remembrance of her at all than have that happen.

If they regretted them they wouldn't have buried Leelah as a boy. Fuck the Alcorns.
