Getting On is one of the best shows on TV, yet I rarely hear anything about. All the performances are standout. Laura Metcalf will make you cringe (in a good way) and Nash is amazing. If you haven’t checked it out, DO.

Excellent point. I’m sorry that I rushed past sensitivity to others straight to the joke. I myself struggled with nursing a lot, and I’d never want to hurt those who weren’t able to nurse for whatever reason.

Just FYI... not all of us have the ability to breastfeed. I won’t lie - it’d be nice to have formula made this quick, with replenishment delivered to my door.

My co-worker adopted a three-year-old. Whenever anyone would tell her she was a “saint” for adopting an older kid, she would look them straight in the eye and say, “She came to me potty-trained.”

I’ve NEVER understood that. Listen, I have a kid...and she was absolutely inconsolable and WORTHLESS from birth until at least 5 or so. I would’ve gladly skipped those years in which I had to do every single little thing for her. WHY DON’T PEOPLE APPRECIATE OLDER KIDS MORE?!?!?!

A fellow parent gave you the stink-eye for calling your kid a jerk? There is not a parent alive who hasn’t called their kid that or worse. I love my little boy dearly, but there are times when he’s a real asshole; I have no issue saying this.

The comments on this thread are really making me upset. I feel like people are shaming people for being upset about losing functionality of an expensive product at a time when they need it most. People on this program are working hard to lose weight and it’s hard enough to do especially at Thanksgiving. I don’t think

I’m newly pregnant and also a children’s bookseller. Naturally the first thing I did was start an (ongoing) list of books I absolutely need. Here it is:

Right now my 7 mo old is REALLY into straws. So... don’t worry too much about gifts.

Yes it is. She signed the contract to be responsible for the child.

He is her family, jackass.

Since this piece is focusing on (Nurse) Midwives and Midwives in general, I’d like to point out that epidurals may be administered by Anesthesiologists and also Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, of which I am one.

I had three kids with a certified nurse midwife and heartily recommend them for well woman care and pregnancy/birth. I think the huge issue with the CPM, which is a midwife that isn’t necessarily someone with the same level of training as a certified professional midwife a CPM, often isn’t subject to the same level of

I can understand restricting paid leave to employees who’ve been there for a certain amount of time- that is fair. Requiring that someone come back after leave or come up out of pocket is idiotic.

Dude, this is an article about a dead baby. Seriously? You wanna be that guy?

Imagine if 25 of those people had nuclear bombs! Or Bazookas! Or magical powers!

While it is true that Caitlyn Jenner transitioned with privileges that far too few trans* enjoy, I think responses like Mr. Smith’s make it pretty clear that transitioning is still an act of bravery.

Mayyybe not the best night for “murder spree”.

If a pregnancy is planned I think it’s reasonable to expect a certain degree of commitment.
