Earlier rumor was that we'd get AWD. If this isn't AWD, then I'm sad.

I'll take AWD, thank you.

MASSIVE missed opportunity with the video... forget that rock background crap.

44k, cp.

If that was the point, I don't get it. Every one of those cars had the tC either outgunned by 10-40hp or lighter and more focused. The tC didn't really have a sport model. It was just supposed to do everything.

I think the 160hp is a little lackluster for how "sporty" the car is supposed to be. The celica with a 1.8L made 190-195hp. It was a fun and quick car. The tC should've been the next generation celica and it wasn't.

It's cool, but for $10K I want the "Spared No Expense" edition with the plexi-top, CRT monitors inside telling me about the park, night vision goggles and flashlights in some Pelican cases in the back, etc. At least give me a bull bar and some lights on the front! Oh and Sam Neil should be available upon delivery

I remember many trips to and from scout camp in one of those things, fully loaded down with 6 scouts and gear for a week on the trailer behind. Comfortable, spacious, and effective.

You're right, I completely forgot about the body panels, but the same thing was true of ours: looked great when we sold it (for the age). Just a bit faded, but not all dented up or anything.

And yeah, the seats were so hilariously easy to remove. They were so easy to take out sometimes we'd take the middle ones out

this. Mine was the Olds, "short" version, with the 3.8. It was a taller Grand Prix. With proper braking and setup into corners my Silhouette buried all sorts of Hondas and Mustangs on windy roads. Multiple trips between CA and WA, coming down the passes towards Lake Shasta, it did what was asked as long as I wasn't

"There is no doubt in my mind that the production version was designed first, then given more zazz and pizzazz for the concept version."

My grandparents had one, so I have fond memories due to some fun vacations. I even drove it at times. Watching my laughably short grandma try to clean the inside of the windshield that is waaayyyyy out there always provided a chuckle. The 2-3-2 modular seating, I believe they called it, did come in handy for

my mom had the following generation version for years and loved it. It was a great van, probably the best all around car we ever had.

Sorry. Have to disagree with this article. My parents owned one that was absolutely identical to the one in the lead photo. It was a great vehicle. At least ours was.

I don't want to be a nerd, but..

Fantastic! :D The Golf R is back in the running for my next purchase now.

Whose decision was it to debut the R Wagon here? Are they also responsible for making the decision as to whether or not they'll sell it here? Do they have a weakness and how do we exploit it?

A Golf R AND in wagon form? Chocolate in my peanut butter baby!

WOW. I was looking at 2002 Audi S6 Avants yesterday wondering if I should pull the trigger. This makes me so happy. Hopefully I won't have to wait until 2016 to buy one. Volkswagen, please bring this to the states and in enough volume to make it easy for me to buy. Also - don't make it $40k. That's all I want for
