To all, I know it's about the $$$. But aren't there at least a handful of American companies who could pony up for national pride and the sponsorship opportunities?

I can't believe US Oil company can't just foot the bill for an F1 race here. And no, I'm not completely joking. Last time I checked, their quarterly profits were not terrible.

If f-ing Singapore can host a GP, why can't an N/A country/city get their act together?

There is a Lukoil that offers $2.99 cash rate on regular 7 days a week somewhere in my area. I paid $3.19 last night at a more convenient Shell on my way home.
