This exact thing happened to me early in my career. I had four to five years of experience and the highest level of education.

I’m not at your level of academic experience (highest degrees are only MS-level; YMMV), but if it has any consoling effect, this also happens to almost anyone that elects to exclude themselves from “the old boys club” as well (yes, we exist). Some people really don’t like it when their subordinates begin to break out…

I'm with you 100% - I'm pretty open minded when it comes to music, but their voices are like nails on a chalkboard for me. I don't care how good their lyrics or beats are- they can't overcome the voice issue.
