I have a Volt. The 30-50 mile range I get per day is usually sufficient to meet my needs. I charge every night. About once a month I drive pretty far for work, around 200 miles. And the gas engine meets my need there. To go pure electric I'd want something in the 250-300 mile range, access to a fast charging network,…

But that’s the point...for most people, you’ll never have to go to a gas or a charging station. Charging at home is life changing. I only have a PHEV, but when I do go get gas every other month or so, I just feel so lucky that I don't have to stop every week like I used to.

We technically already have universal healthcare. Like a hospital is going to see you whether you have insurance or not. The goal is instead of charging that person 5k for an ER visit for bronchitis that they’re never going to pay, you get people into their primary care doc for 100 that that person will be paying for…
