Thanks so much for pointing this out...it's sad, but true :-(

You're so self-aware - I love it! Thanks so much for this post...

Announcement to you: there is far more hate directed toward "fatties" when they're women than when they're men. The way I've heard men talk about "fatties," you'd think they were talking about someone who kills puppies and eats them.

You're right...let's just ignore the problem...

I hope he doesn't go all Charlie Sheen/Mel Gibson on us... :-( Also, his editorial is just so him...he's a big goof! I wouldn't expect anything objective or seriously-researched from him...leave that to journalists...

So adopt it.

Did Patrick Higgins cite any specific cases in which people have been unable to enjoy the library due to the presence of the cat?

Also, this guy's petition would have been far more effective if he presented actual cases of people being unable to use the library due to the presence of the cat - doesn't sound like he did that...

THANK YOU!!! Accommodations such as wheelchair ramps and lifts, elevators, sign language interpreters, screen readers, closed-captioning, text enlargers, etc are all ADDITIONS that make persons with disabilities' lives easier; in fact some of these accommodations can be used by EVERYONE to make our lives easier - for

Isn't the dust all over the books as much of an allergen as a cat?

Thanks for presenting your balanced view of GMOs..."GMO" is a scary three-letter acronym that can come across as MSG-like if you start labeling foods "GMO-free" - labeling foods this way misleads the public into thinking that GMOs are inherently evil, when in fact much of what we consume has been genetically modified

Sounds like grey rape: she could've said "no," but he didn't secure a "yes."

I read all of the American Girls books! I can't remember any other books from my childhood that were encouraging of being an independent girl. I remember a scene from one of the Felicity books where she's wearing the men's breeches under her skirt at the dinner table and she's super uncomfortable in them...something

I'm right there with you...I was raised Catholic, but am now an atheist. However, I do believe that the story of Jesus is an example of how to be a good person - this pope actually followed Jesus' teachings with this demonstration, unlike many Christians in the public eye.

DOGS FTW! I'd rather talk about dogs and/or hear about dogs than anything else you've mentioned...

You sound like an awesome parent with a good head on your shoulders! You seem to have a realistic understanding of teenage social-climbing. You can't keep your kids on leashes - my mom did that and it was psychologically damaging. We need to make this world a safer place for children to be themselves in...it's hard to

Best. comment. ever.

NO WORRIES! I'm going to look at the profile first as well - MRAs aren't worth arguing with, whereas uneducated and/or misinformed people are.

That's what it's going to feel like here this summer! You can't live in NYC without an air conditioner anymore!
