Good. The proper Clone Wars.

So wait, so the Knightmare sequence in BvS is.....not part of the continuity of the other Knightmare scenes? Like, Batman is pretty dead in that in BvS.

So....three films to resolve this? Seriously? Like, what is the point of the Knightmare stuff? Bruce somehow gets a glimpse of it in BvS (THEY STILL HAVEN’T EXPLAINED HOW!), and it takes four movies to resolve that? This makes no sense.

I don’t know if it was a simplification but a change. Democracy, in the sense of civic engagement, vs. fascism.

I rewatched the film in 2017 after not seeing it in a decade. It both works better as a film in more modern times than during the Bush years, and the themes it addresses are more in your face in reality now. I highly recommend it.

Hang on, Cumberbatch doing this movie is old news. Variety broke the story back in 2015. The news today is Trevorrow signing on.

I was all in until I saw Collin Trevorrow. I’m sorry, Jurassic World and Book of Henry mean I will never see another of his films.

While doing a flip. I know in the comics they said outside of Steve, only Bucky and Hawkeye could wield it, given the metal arm and the supernatural aiming skills, respectively. Curious how they explain it here since Sam has no powers.

I appreciate this take. I don’t outright hate the guy, and heavens knows I feel for the guy after that personal tragedy, but I find him grating in general and his films bad. He’s not Uwe Boll bad, but he’s a bad filmmaker. Everything is big and epic and posing, but weightless. I think because of his belief in

Christian Bale. Has the gravitas for it.

Oh, I agree on Clark. I LOVE the “bumbling dad” update to Clumsy Clark Kent. Hoechlin, despite his youth, nails it, and it works better than when he was Clark before. I just don’t get “Himbo.” I thought that meant ditzy brainless beauty. Clark’s not dumb.

How is Superman a himbo? Has the meaning of that word changed?

Goddamn Goa’uld.

Sounds like LeBron needs some keyboard cowboys to hack the Gibson.

I mean, I kind of agree. I know I’m in the minority but I still think he’s miscast. The golly gee whiz thing is annoying and his dramatic range is not great.

Agreed. I think the teens are not as bad as I feared (Jon’s fashion sense screams bro though, ugh), and I like that they for the most part get along.

Seriously. If it’s like Man of Steel, it’s just that it addresses similar topics....in the exact opposite way, with actual depth and maturity. Clark actually deals with consequences of his actions, his doubts, his hopes, and what his actions mean. And he saves every life because that’s what Superman does.

People keep saying the CGI show replaced the Tartakovsky one in full. Which is a shame as I tried and tried and couldn’t get into the CGI one. The original had so much style and story use (the Ventress duel, the apparently no longer canonical reason for Grievous being injured).

YEah, wait, who is this John fellow?

Probably. That said, the action was insanely good. Sharlto Copley combining force fields and a katana was extremely cool.
