“Second, Acorns isn’t exactly free, but their fee is still better than Digit’s. There’s a flat monthly fee of $1 for accounts with a balance under $5,000. For accounts over that amount, the fee is reduced to 0.25% per year.”

No offense and all, because I found the video hilarious, but what the fuck? Typically Gear posts have a link to an item with a description and whatnot, not a video full of profanity. I’m just glad I wasn’t at work when I hit play. It’s funny and all, just very of unexpected in this venue, and without any warning in…

What sort of problems? Technical issues? I can say I’ve had some of those here and there and it can definitely be frustrating.

I get 60 Mbps down just fine (which is what I’m paying for thru my ISP) on PIA, it’s a bit cheaper at $39.95/year, and that doesn’t require a coupon so it should be roughly the same next year barring any price increase.

I apologize that I chose to use a specific example rather than an open-ended one. Simply because I didn’t use the same verbiage as you the premise is similar. Either way, I do agree with what you’re saying, and my entire comment was more of a joke, regardless.
I did indeed allow for such things when I said “Maybe if you live somewhere that someone got bored enough to rip all the instructions off the machines, I guess this could be helpful.”
That’s not bad, though. Mine does 5 minutes per quarter after the first dollar, and it’s 20 minutes for the first dollar. So you only get 5 minutes per $0.25, except that you MUST use a minimum of 20 minutes. If your clothes were only going to take 8 minutes to dry, you got the better deal by far.
That’s exactly what I was thinking. I’ve literally read this on every coin-operated dryer I’ve ever seen. It clearly says to add more coins to add more time. Maybe if you live somewhere that someone got bored enough to rip all the instructions off the machines, I guess this could be helpful. If you don’t read…
Look, if I could get a year of insurance for the cost of an iPhone, I would. Honestly, it’s cheaper at the moment to go ahead and take the tax penalty than pay for substandard healthcare, let alone GOOD healthcare. I’d like to see a solution to this issue since, thanks to the Republicans, “Obamacare” didn’t end up…
It’s amusing to me that people act as though this isn’t normal behavior when being chastised time and time again. I once, as a kid, spent an entire day with rumors flying around my school, hearing it from every person I spoke to from before classes started to my last class of the day. Know what I did? I asked every…
What JuryDuty said, with the addition of the fact that Simple’s shared accounts does mesh VERY well with Mint, which surprised me. When a Simple account that is joined to a shared account is added to Mint, both show up in it immediately. Since I wanted to keep track of both my finances AND my fiancee’s, who’s the…
I doubt it’d lose money. Most people buy Xbox Gold yearly, at around $60/year. Yes, there are some who still do the month-to-month thing, but then they just cancel when they aren’t playing and it lapses. This, at $120/yr would cost me almost double Xbox Gold, but may well replace it for me since I don’t really use…
That’s exactly how I feel. And auditing the app defeats the entire purpose of it, since it’s supposed to be making your life easier, not making you do twice the work. You shouldn’t need to look it up in the app, then ALSO look it up online to see if the app was correct. If you have to do that you might as well just…
This has been my issue with all of these types of apps. I make my food, and it’s almost impossible to get accurate calorie counts without simply doing the research and entering it in myself, at which point it’d be faster to use a pencil & paper or my “Notes” app to record calories since I wouldn’t have to enter in…
Mind. Blown. I never understood why they’d continue to smell so strongly because glass/metal shouldn’t keep smells that strongly, yet never thought about the seal.
I don’t travel much, but I was going to say the exact same thing for those last two bullet points. I’ve had several times where I arrived prior to check-in and simply (*gasp*) asking the front desk person “Is there anything I can do with my bags for now so I don’t have to sit around in the lobby or lug them around…
This is why you keep your keys slimmed down as best as possible, mine are thinner than my cellphone. Also, your reasoning feeds in to my logic very well, since I’d rather have my keys hit something than my phone since they’re far less prone to damage. Thus, keys will stay in my dominant pocket.
Right pocket always. Left is for my phone. Most times I need my phone, my right hand is busy, typically using a mouse or keyboard at the time, so it’s habitual for me to pick it up with my non-dominant hand and therefore it goes in my non-dominant pocket. Also, the keys go on the right side of the steering column. …
Frankly, you veered into asshole territory long before he did. It’s clear to me he knew what he meant, you were being particularly obtuse and pedantic. You’re either trolling or an idiot, either way I want no part of it.
