I was looking for the smug comment. Was tempted to make one myself, but then I remembered I discourage them on both sides. Why’s it always gotta be “us vs them” rather than simply “yo, glad you guys finally got something I’ve been using and enjoy”?

This is precisely how I feel about someone coming to me face-to-face for something they need that I’m not currently needing to work on.

Hence why I said I just wanted to see the bacon thing fail. I guess one good use I could see would be rendering all the fat and keeping it as clean as possible, but that’s not really “cooking bacon” it’s “harvesting bacon” because the resulting meat wouldn’t be very appetizing unless, as you say, it were crisped

This was my thought as well.

I’m torn between the bacon and the roast. It depends, for the roast, what you’re actually intending. If you mean with sides and all I’d definitely like to see it. Just a primary roast is pretty well-known to sous vide well, I’ve done it a few times myself. The bacon thing, I agree, I just want to see it fail.

I know about cloud chasing, believe me. I did it plenty. I still couldn’t smell the liquid after the cloud had dissipated. So it would smell like the vape while any haze remained, but not afterward. My original statement was toward the implication that it acts similarly to cigarette smoke, where vaping, then

While I agree with those statistics, I think that’s because people are often working when those happen, and thus not home. If someone realizes you will be away from your home for days at a time, and might stake the place out one of those days before hitting it the next one just to be sure, light timers could deter

You said it first, but were grey, I got you outta that grey area, yay! :D Fully agree. It was designed to fail on the first dummy test, not buckled properly at all.

Fully agree. Even the testing dummy has it WAY too loose when they fire it, then the second time the straps are clear off the shoulders. It’s right, if you buckle your kid in like that, they’re going to fly out of the seat in an impact. But it’s also like they went “meh, we don’t want to do a second take, so let’s

That’s what I was thinking would happen. Perhaps if you flipped it regularly, but that’s a lot of dedication to not having to stir some peanut butter, lol.

I agree, that would be extremely useful, I just thought since those particular options interested you that you might find what you were hoping for. I wish they could be programmed to somehow have a single button press that would notify you on your phone and remind you to place one order later, rather than a separate

They actually do have them for both cat food and litter, but they limit which brands, unfortunately. Check it out, though, if they’re your brands it’d be useful.

I really think you should do the sides, since you plan to do the turkey. It’d be interesting to consider a full Thanksgiving meal made with nothing but hot water.

Bread makes you FAT!?

That’s what I thought that was. :D

I’ve been considering this for the same reason. Somehow, I can make an entire breakfast (bacon, eggs, hash browns, buttered toast) and have a whopping 1 pan left that needs cleaned. She makes pre-packed refrigerated cookies (not even from scratch) and somehow has a sink full of dishes that need cleaned.

You’d get fat.

I agree completely with your assessment of the patient mentality. I’m not saying anyone would recommend it as a sole source for a deficiency, simply in addition to whatever other treatment. Also, as I’d said, it was something I’d read, not definitive. Definitely shouldn’t be relied upon as a sole solution.

That’s cool to know. My understanding was the longer it was cooked in it, the more it would occur as well, so as long as it wasn’t in the pan for a significantly long amount of time I wouldn’t think it’d taste off. I know I’ve cooked marinara in my cast iron before out of pure laziness (didn’t want to dirty and

I’ve also read this is a reason some doctors have recommended people with iron deficiencies use cast iron more regularly if they’re able, as it may help with that condition. I don’t know just how helpful this really would be, however.
