Bigger monitors, in some cases, I'm sure. Personally, the text doesn't seem too small, but I also sit about a foot or two from the screen, lean in if I'm having trouble. I'm also very adept at Firefox's zoom shortcuts in case I ever have trouble reading anything. I can't stand using non-native resolutions. The

Hey, sweet, thanks for the reply!

That's too bad, it looks like the Pure Reader for Firefox is broken due to the redesign of Google Reader. Which is a bummer because I love the look of Reeder.

I don't see how anyone could use social media to keep up with any actual news. They could keep up with what's "popular", but I don't even regularly check Facebook anymore due to the fact that most of what I see is simply re-posted photos/videos/links and that's no way to get consistent news from one source.

Based on the appearance of the finished broom, I'd say it'd have to be more along the lines of 20 bottles. Once you've cut them down they'd stuff inside each other pretty well, especially with how the bottles are being flattened at the top. It just looks far too thick to be a mere 2 bottles cut into strips with a

The post here seems to suggest using 3 bottles, but the original post actually states you should use 20 total to make the broom. Definitely could be useful in a third-world country, but I doubt someone who just moved into a new place (and especially someone out camping) would want to first drink 20 2-liter bottles of

For Bowler's comment of "[However] if anyone wants to make me a better capacitive pen that has more of a marker-like tip to it so I wouldn't have to use this mushy glob tipped pen to draw with, I'd really appreciate it." It does exist, just saw it yesterday at ThinkGeek. I want one. [www.thinkgeek.com]

Cool, thanks for the answer. I was just curious if it were an actual question someone sent in or not. I usually enjoy the Ask Lifehacker articles.

Not meaning to criticize in the least, but do you guys actually field questions, or do you write up your own questions? It seems like that the questions in the "Ask Lifehacker" articles are often phrased to allow copious linking to previous articles on Lifehacker.

I'm surrendering it because I had literally just downloaded it yesterday, a few hours before I saw the news about Facebook. Also, I do not like to support large companies buying out smaller ones since in my experience it's only been a good thing on a rare occasion. Based on Facebook's tendency to ignore the userbase

Aaaand, uninstalling Instagram. Really feel that Facebook will inevitably ruin the interest I had in it.

Here's the funny thing... TECHNICALLY, according to their system, I have it. But only for Trillian 4. "1 license of Trillian Astra (Pro 4.x) - ACTIVE - Added on January 23, 2010" So it's still active, but in order to get the Pro features for Triallian 5, and get rid of the damned advertising, they want me to pay.

Also-also worth noting that's only for one year of Trillian Pro for free. I did this before they introduced the yearly subscription concept and was quite annoyed and frustrated that my "subscription" to what I had believed was a now-owned program ended one year from when I had done the "trial".

I was going to post on here to say that I disagree, but seen as I read this on a digital medium I don't really remember the article anymore...

This technique works very well, but so people understand this is not the ONLY purpose of an app like Candybar. Candybar also allows people to create icon packs, and you can replace the entire system's icons in one drag-and-drop motion. Also, this doesn't work for every application since some of them actually

Okay, maybe it implied that to you, but to me it implied that they're behind, and need to use a third-party application to enable a feature they would have had they not jailbroken, or had they given it up. I don't jailbreak anymore because the last time I did I couldn't find much use for it. I'm well aware of what

That doesn't mean he's wrong, however. It's still a way for jailbroken phones to get a standard iPhone feature. Kind of amusing that by jailbreaking you're missing out on a standard feature.

I was thinking that would be really cool. A rack of all the projects you have going on, grab a tray off of it, work on it, put it back, etc. Personally, my projects are always far bigger than a tray so unfortunately this won't help my lack of desk space.

Thank you for that, now I don't have to go hunting for that information myself! :) I've been wearing glasses since I was 8 years old, contacts off and on since I was 12. I'm 29. I've worn misshapen, bent, broken and half-repaired, cocked, and so on lenses. NONE of them have caused my prescription to change in the

Oh, believe me, I'm 29 and I've worn contacts since I was in the 6th grade. I've tried a LOT of options, and preferred them in high school, but nowadays it costs me $40 for 6 months worth, and that's assuming I don't lose any of them, or have them tear, etc. It cost me roughly $200 for my glasses, and they've lasted
