Amen. I can’t tell you how happy I was when I figured out how to turn off the adaptive cruise on my Tacoma.

I’m sure StalePhish will be along shortly to educate us simpletons.

Lacking in the style department though. No matter what Jalops say, wagons / crossovers are not stylish.

I just realized I’m suddenly in the black on my laptop! Thanks to whomever did that.

I wish the Lexus was more commonly seen. They’re gorgeous, but they are also rare, even in my tony neck of Florida woods.

I’d argue it’s vastly better looking than the Aston, these are a sight in the wild.

Hey did you know you can get a supercar every bit as beautiful as your Aston that’s BRAND NEW and starts under $100k?

I guess a cult of personality (and the promise of unrealized AI features) can only insulate you from bad business decisions for so long. Spending so much time and effort on the Cybertruck — when they could have been focusing on a cheaper mass-market vehicle — was a terrible idea.

Funny how when you out yourself as a white supremacist edge-lord, people don’t want to buy from you. Not to mention the known issues with the vehicles.

The wrap-over windows are a genuine call-back to the Gen 1 4Runner. The removable roof had wrap-over windows. I love the modern take on them.

They’ve done a pretty good job of creating something completely new that still looks a lot like it always has. Which...since they were still selling a more than decade old platform as well as they were, makes sense.

I gotta admit. Toyota killed it once again. They really are THE ELITE everymans automobile/truck manufacturer. Nobody comes close to Toyota when it comes to nailing down every category with desirable vehicle options whether off-road or on.

To be fair, most new cars aren’t fun to drive. It’s not just an EV thing. Too many nannies, too many screens, too much ADAS, shitty visibility, and too heavy.

Agreed.. but.. Ford and Toyota have been making them for years and the reliability are proven to be as good as their ICE offerings.

Or, all the upsides of ICE and EV without the downsides of the latter. Or could just say pricing in a high interest rate environment.

Hybrids - all the positives of an ICE engine + none of the downsides of an EV.

People say better? Or funner?

It’s impossible. Always and forever in the grays. With no way to not be gray.

Also, how am I still in the grays after posting on Jalopnik for 15 years?

As another perma-gray, I make sure to always show pending replies like yours.
