I guess, as she is spider-woman, that it makes sense that she would have so many arms. That they can appear and disappear like that is a bit jarring though.

A better way for modern gamers would have been for the player’s mom to appear and hold their hand while they were swimming.

Looks that way, I am also seeing bits of a macross veritech’s leg and armor thruster in the thing projecting from its back. Kind of cool to see these things repurposed.
