Because a tablet might be more useful to the person than an HDTV. Additionally, it may be an old, used, cheaper tablet. It may also have been a gift, won in a contest, stolen, found, etc.

I'll give you Live, because I don't know if new XBLA releases are delayed for non-Gold users, but you should consider that there are free Gold trials, and there are other payment options besides Yearly. $50 a month for internet seems to expensive. A lot of people pay a lot less for internet, or mooch off a…
I'm not saying games aren't too expensive at $60, because they are. But if you wait a few months/a year, you can find most games at $20-$30 brand new.
I should let you know first that I'm a pretty expensive guy.
It's not that expensive if you're smart about it. Particularly this late into the cycle. I don't think it's that hard to believe that there's people out there who may have a 360, have bought this game, and not be able to afford an HDTV.
That's another leap in logic man. There's many other ways to get your hands on one of those besides purchasing it. You're also really, seriously missing my point: There's a myriad other ways to access the internet and complain without having access to a monitor.
HAHAHAHA. No, it's not impossible. Takes some effort to make it work, but it's definitely not impossible. If the game was profitable within one day, then I'm pretty damn certain they can afford to put that effort to get inventories working on a smaller resolution if they really wanted to.
"if they have a laptop, smartphone, tablet or a screen that doesnt have hdmi input (umm component cables? standard with all pre slim xboxes) they can afford $15."
That's just stupid. Are you seriously going to tell poor people not to enjoy what little they can get just because they can't afford more? Can you honestly not see how damn stupid that is?
I love people.
It's an arbitrary requirement tho, and it wasn't pointed out to the players previous to the purchase, even tho the console fully supports sdtv's. It's not that hard to put a little line of text that says "HDTV required for splitscreen".
Thanks, captain obvious!
Really? So it's all or nothing? WHAT FLAWLESS LOGIC YOU HAVE THERE SIR.
This is not the same type of situation tho.
Oh? What if the monitor they are using is at work? What if it's an all-in-one computer that doesn't have an external input(like an iMac) or a laptop? What if they are using a smartphone or a tablet? What if their screen doesn't have an HDMI input? What if their penis is blue? That would be pretty odd no? :s
And what happens when someone wants to be the very best? Like no one ever was? To catch them all is his real test, to train them is his cauuuussseeee!
Or better yet, they should have launched the Vita ten years ago, and it would have dominated even the home console market because it's way more powerful than the Xbox/PS2!
I disagree. I think what's pretty obvious is that you're reading his statement with a heavy bias against him. Putting a spin on people's words is never a nice thing to do.
"But putting out an ugly lego simulator is "saving gaming.""
The future of gaming, everyone!
