I think pinpointing the exact centre should still be pretty hard. You also cannot see if he is behind a car/box/something because of his massive self-projection blocking your sight. :p

I don't think that's the case here, as things rendered in the skybox cannot clip with things within the map, due to it typically being rendered in a separate background layer. Also the blown up limbs and face seem like a good indication that it's a model glitch.

There must be something wrong on your end because the HL series has some of the most precise and responsive controls I have experienced. I still remember how jarring it was going back to Halo after playing HL2 and CS:S for a while.
