Anecdotally, I have met (and was married to one) African American men who were very critical of large sized women, and one of the reasons they were dating non-Black women was, as they themselves stated, that they disliked the sometimes larger size of some African American women. Internalized racism at its worst.

It’s stereotyping. I know that there’s a fair share of black men who are attracted to big white women, but I can assure you that there are black men who wouldn’t look at this woman twice.

Now, you listen here.... when a white person tells you there’s no racism (in a circumstance where black teenagers are being threatened and physically assaulted for no real reason), because other white people have said there’s no racism, who are you to question that?

Yeah, you know.... your bullshit half-hearted defense (“alleged race targeted events”) and standard “keep making every issue into a race one” shows which side you’re on.

I don’t think anyone’s position is that trespassing or disobeying officers is good. My stance is that police officers waving guns at unarmed children is WORSE and totally unacceptable. Breaking up a party with guests of multiple races and ignoring the white kids is undeniable racial targeting. Body slamming a skinny

Apparently “McKinney has a black resident” is the new “I have black friends.” The fact that a black man lives there does not disprove the residents’ or cops’ racism. Jesus.

The fact that the party was, indeed, thrown by a resident with a pool pass invalidates your entire apologist bullshit rant. It’s cool, though, how you take third-hand gossip and try to pass it off as truth. Go you. :/

It’s like these people have never talked to teenagers. Of course they mouthed off. They are teenagers. No one understands them and Brian won’t return their calls and they just want to wear hoodies and write terrible poetry and also go get Chipotle and hang out at the mall and maybe write study for that PreCalc final

If you’d like all of this to be taken seriously, perhaps linking to said seven-minute video would help. Otherwise we’re still left with a situation where, even taking what you say at face value, the white kids involved were ignored by the police and that cop sure as hell looks guilty of using excessive force.

North Texas is a special kind of place when it comes to addressing racism. For one thing, overt crazy classism is completely, no questions asked, 100% acceptable. So a lot of the racists there will talk about “those people” and keeping their kids out of certain neighborhoods, and if you call them on it they will

My mother actually tried to sell us when I was 7 and my brother was 5. She was on the phone with the guy, working out the deal (she was trying to get $1000 each for us—this was in 1977), and the deal somehow fell through (he wouldn’t agree to what she wanted) and she went into a rage. She ordered us into the car and

I work in youth advocacy. I can tell you that hair cutting and threatening to put a child put up for adoption are not grounds for abuse claims and certainly not jail time. I hear multiple times a week from parents who are fed up with their children and make similar statements about adoption/foster care/shelter

I want so badly to admire Emma Stone. I loved Easy A. Really just adore that movie. But jeezus fuck is she making it impossible. Between this and The Help and how many Woody Allen movies? I'm kinda done. She is not Olive.

The question isn’t really whether it happens, though. The question is why are we so happy to say “oh, this could happen, totally plausible” when a demographic that is under-represented in film continues to be under-represented while there’s a really great opportunity to have that not be the case. Why are white people

My favourite part of the feedback to all this is all the white people going, ‘It’s just a movie, it’s just acting why do you care’, but God forbid you cast a fictional superhero of another race, then it’s not ‘realistic’. Over it.

Can you imagine what conservatives, Duggar fans, foxnews watchers, etc would say if there was a show about a black family with 19+ kids & one of them was a child molester? Can you imagine how fucking insane they would be right now?

But which Megyn kelly will it be?

This might not be an “outright condemnation” but it’s pretty close. He didn’t excuse Josh at all and he specifically mentioned his concern for the girls.

I’m not sure he needs to come and with the “I condemn him” statements regarding Josh “pumpkinhead” Duggar in order for people to understand that him saying he doesn’t support him or his actions means just that.
