These Armani glasses are pretty close, but more transparent than the ones he is wearing.

It is probably true that at least this specific action is not enough to arrest Rowland because it was not a threat of immediate violence. (I am wondering about his earlier behavior) It however, would be harassment under any order of protection statute that I know of, especially when combined with his earlier behavior.

Turkey Hill is good but I find Southern Comfort’s creamier. That said, I have both brands in my fridge at this very moment.

So I’m just going to state the obvious. Eggnog and Mayonnaise share one total ingredient. Eggs.  Actually just the yolks.  By the same logic, a Bloody Mary is just a liquefied plate of spaghetti. What? They both have tomato in them, right? Same thing.

DID YOU KNOW AN OMELET IS JUST LIKE MAYO?!

So is ice cream also mayo? I love how Prachi says she could mix mayo, cream and spices together and it would taste the same and yet she hasn’t. Put your money where you mouth is.

Y’all clearly don’t look at enough cat memes.

“It was essentially does this song sound exactly like this other song (see ice ice Baby/under pressure)”

My brother went through this. He was in a band with some friends, that had a minor hit. They were sued because an algorithm found a few notes of their melody matched that of someone else’s song. Dragged out in the court system for years and killed any chance at residuals for him.

an egregious example of a judge ruling on an issue outside their area of legal expertise”

As someone who has been dating a lawyer for several years, all i can say is.....yep, that’s the system.

There’s a saying that “hard cases make bad law.” I think it’s better said that “good lawyers make bad law.”

Agreed. According to the reasoning behind this insane verdict, every song on Billy Joel’s “Innocent Man” album is infringement since he purposely (and quite expertly) emulated the musical styles of his childhood on each track on that album.

Make no mistake, Blurred Lines is a gross sexist song that I’m happy has been largely forgotten.

I actually like the song (I like Marvin Gaye too, so that might be part of it), but you’re totally right. It’s a bullshit verdict, a vindictive move by Marvin’s estate, and generally and shitty thing for the music industry in general.

Why is a verdict excellent that will open the floodgates to all kinds of ludicrous copyright lawsuits by artists who claim that a song copied a ‘feeling’ of another song? I get it, you hate Robin Thicke, but being so dense and short sighted is no way to go through life.

Ugh, I’m no fan, but this just seems like a terrible decision. It’s not even as close as the Pressure/Ice Ice Baby rip-off (which the court decided wasn’t a rip-off! IIRC)! It always sounded more like an homage rather than straight plagiarism to me.

Make no mistake, Blurred Lines is a gross sexist song that I’m happy has been largely forgotten.

Curacao.

imgur has a nice collection of all(?) contestants.

Yeah, the address is great and the construction looks good. But the interior just reminds me of my grandma’s apartment.
