Millennial as a term didn’t get popularized by the news services until relatively recently, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a good term for the generation. // shrug

It’s not silly; generations are marked by birth dates but they’re defined by the world around the time they’re in their late teens and early twenties. This is when people become their adult selves and when culture solidifies for a generation.
Haha, 10 years early for what? What are you, afraid of being associated with avocado toast?
I was born in ‘83 and I agree with PEW here. Millennial indicates that we came of age during the change of millennia, it’s more explanatory at a glance than ‘Gen Y’. What defines our generation socially is really internet access from a young age (though, unlike Gen Z, we’re not “online natives”) and that makes sense…
I use the Jart Tiger Grass color corrector basically daily and I love it. I no longer wear traditional foundation. I also have *super* dry skin no matter what I do (garbage genetics) so I have to moisturize like a motherfucker. Here’s my latest routine, including the tiger grass stuff, which has been extremely…
He wasn’t an ex, but my husband and I were married by—AKA he officiated—a friend of mine that I made out with after my husband and I started dating. (I apologized and we moved on, obviously!)
Yes.
You should read the play if you’re interested in the plagiarism allegations.
You are correct. Everyone I have spoken to, online or off, about this who has said “Oh they seem so similar, I’m so disappointed, obvious plagiarism...” has not actually read the play. (This includes the screenwriter who caped for it on another post on this website.)
You should check out Janelle Monae’s new song ‘Make Me Feel’. You’ll probably dig it. (And she’s a for-real genius.)
Lin Manuel deserved that win. I can’t even remember that other movie’s name anymore, is how forgettable it is.
“polite”
It makes total sense. The NRA has long sent letters to public representatives essentially forcing them to declare either allegiance support to the NRA or the NRA will “alert their members.”
I guess you missed the whole part of my comment where I stated explicitly that there’s no love story in Let Me Hear You Whisper? The protagonist isn’t in love with the dolphin at all, she just thinks the animal abuse is horrific. (She’s also a coward and kind of an asshole as well who abandons the dolphin at the end.)
I’ll take your word for it, but I’m having a hard time following the story structure argument when the final acts of both are so completely different. (Or, I guess, Let Me Hear You Whisper doesn’t have a fourth act, depending on how you look at it.)
I’m surprised, have you actually read Let Me Hear You Whisper? I was curious about this case (I liked the movie) so I bought the play on Amazon. It’s... not that similar.
Conversely, all commenters on Kinja have the ability to start their own threads and no one is beholden to showcasing anyone else’s ideas.
I know this might seem harsh, so I want to say upfront that I don’t mean what I’m about to say in a mean way and I’m being sincere: is she actually “very hard to live with,” or just not your (personal) ideal roommate?
Tangent: most wineries don’t make any money on shipping even though it seems ridiculously expensive compared to shopping for anything else, shipping alcohol direct to consumers is unfortunately super expensive all-around. My husband is GM of a winery and he decided a few years ago that they’d basically eat 1/3 of…
