Yeah, I agree. I had just seen several comments about it the above thread, and challenges to it centred around “they never got off the boat”; whereas their physical appearance was the first thing that struck me and confirmed they couldn’t have been those kids.

And I’ve stopped assuming what people who watch the show

I mean, I considered it might have been kids that had died before, but it was just a quick moment, and no context for it, if that’s what they were trying to portray, they did it quite poorly. They could have easily thrown in a subtle nod to other kids when she was saying bye to her kids, or when discussing the need to

That makes more sense. I think some of the other commenters responding to you were implying it was the daughters in the boat though (or so I assume), which was what I addressing. Sorry for getting that mixed up.

Right, but some become wights later on after death, which I’m guessing would account for the huge variation in decomposition among wights? My point was just that since the girls were alive..what...30 minutes earlier, neither could have been in the group that attacked their mum, because those kids were much more

Yess, I’ve always loved Tormund. He’s Scandinavian and has a gingerbeard. What else could you want?

I thought so too, but she looked too decomposed. When the dead first become wights, they still look quite human, so I’m not sure it could have been her with that timeline.

This be a little off-topic, but is anyone annoyed at the two Bachelorettes constantly being referred to as “girls”. These are women in their 20s, right?

I’ve encountered a lot of sexist in international security and arms control. There will always be some military or ex-military man all riled up, challenging your expertise because you’re a civilian. Yet they will never say anything to the five male civilians who also spoke.

that is...so confusing.

I agree, it can be difficult to avoid organisers just picking a random woman to fill their “quota”. There is an interesting movement going on in international peace and security though. Men are pledging to turn down invitations to speak at manpanels (as we like to call them). The idea is when you are invited to speak,

He’s trying to bully Supreme Court justices into ruling in his favour. How is that not problematic?

After a long week? I get venting. But venting about how much you hate large groups of kids before a single day on the job? Sorry, that’s a huge red flag.

Oh god, this just breaks my heart.

I used to want to be an ECE too - I was also around the same age as your cousins. You know what cured me of that? Volunteering at a daycamp for 3-5 year old kids for 5 weeks during the summer. I realised that as much as I love kids, it’s not for me. I can’t spent 40 hours a week asking kids if they need to use a

Agreed. Childcare, teaching, social work - these aren’t the kind of grin and bear it jobs where you hating being there doesn’t necessarily have to impact the work performed.

I thought the same thing. If my accountant hates accounting but still does the job, whatever. But kids require interpersonal and emotional interaction when they’re at daycare, and gods are they ever perceptive. I would hate to think a child was being given the bare minimum of care or having eyes rolled at them all

Jaqen H’ghar wasn’t in the books at all, and while I usually side-eye major storyline changes, my reaction to this one was more like:

Yeah, sorry to say - a lot of babies are pretty unfortunate looking. That one is legit cute.

It’s funny how grossed out they are about breasts being used for their original purpose (i.e. feeding), when the only reason they are evolutionarily interested in breasts is precisely because they are FOR FEEDING your offspring. I just can’t with these people.

Yeah, he rallies against breastfeeding but says nothing about yogurt, milk, cheese, or anything else people regularly consume in public that also contains lactose. He must obviously be that deathly allergic that breastmilk is his biggest public health hazard.
