Yea I got the same feeling from the article :( The way Apple uses it recently is ugly, but in small amounts skeuomorphism is very intuitive. These elements are not what makes these Nokia designs bad!

I'm merely pointing out the skeuomorphic elements.

Post-its, polaroid pics, clocks...

"But goddamn, this is what it pays their designers for?"

You download the ISO from Microsoft and then you install it. The dev preview won't update automatically. If you haven't been using it, you can always format it's partition and install the consumer preview there.

You mean completely AWESOME? It doesn't matter that the eye can't distinguish, the screen will be buttery-smooth and able to display full HD content. I can't wait.

What's so bad about the stylus? I'd welcome a little more precision on my touchscreen. When you don't need it, don't use it. When you need it, whip it out! It's not like it's outdated technology, it uses a Wacom digitizer, after all. Just because Steve Jobs condemned the styluses doesn't mean they're bad.

That is very sound logic, with one flaw: do these computer-illiterates know that themselves? Whatever the case may be, an app store and automatic malware protection is exactly what they should have in their machines. I'm not against that.

I was under the impression that all things sold through the Mac App store were subject to a 30 percent cut to Apple, no? Of course, the cut I speak of is not a direct certification fee. But it becomes a hidden certification fee when you throw Gatekeeper in the mix.

Shh! That's a secret!

Yes, it probably CAN be disabled, but how many users do you think know how to, or even know that it can. The issue here is the signals that OS X is becoming more closed. How many releases until the mac App store is the only place to get software?

On one hand, as a webdesigner, seeing this feels like a red-hot poker in my eye. I definitely agree that this is bad whoever designed this is very lazy. If you are an interface designer FOR APPLE, you cannot be this lazy.

Yes it is. We should find a picture of this guy and photoshop a long nose on him.

Promoted!

Hmm, in my experience Firefox renders javascript better than Chrome. I don't know about faster, I haven't timed it, but it's much smoother. Chrome is my favourite general browser, but I tend to test websites more in Firefox when I develop.

I seriously believe this level of awesome actually has a negative impact on mental health.

The numbers are NOT phone numbers, they're ID's for pages and profiles on Facebook. 952 happens to be Peter Schwartzstein's profile ID. It has nothing to do with your phone number.

Well you have to consider his thought process. He probably got the specific idea to make a Skyrim game on that calculator, not a random adventure game. I seriously don't think he named it Skyrim for publicity. It was simply his source of inspiration.

Oh yeah, I remember having fun with that! :D

Um, the game is SET in Liberty City...
