My Delta App for Android already does this. 24hrs before flight checkin via app and I get my boarding pass on the phone. When I get to the airport, scan my phone drop my bags off go to Security Scan my Phone check my id, go to gate scan my phone get on plane.

Weird I have an HTC Incredible and my foursquare UI has looked like the above images for atleast a few weeks now I can't remember the last time I received an update for foursquare but know it was not recently so I guess this is more old news from Gizmodo.
