Don't forget the Fallout 4 leak! That made my freaking year when I saw that, especially after all of the dang trolling that was going on just before it. Thanks for that you blessed Kotaku, you!

You should try Wing Commander Saga - it is based on a tricked out version of the Freespace engine and is AMAZING! (And FREE!) It combines the far superior flight sim mechanics of the Freespace games with the more realized story of the Wing Commander universe. You won't regret it!

I picked up the same one from Walmart in order to properly play Wing Commander Saga as well as a totally modded-out Freespace and Freespace 2 (which I was playing for the first time). So glad I found one—they used to be all over but not anymore. :(

Here, here! I also backed because the Wing Commander games were such a huge part of my childhood. That opening "cinematic" (before cinematic was something anyone could actually do on a PC) in Wing Commander II blew my little boy mind!!! And playing/discussing Privateer was a defining part of several adolescent

Don't forget the OC Remix version. At first I didn't really like it, but now I listen to it all the time. SO GOOD!

I always feel weird because I am such a fanboy for FF IV. That was my one of my first SNES games and it totally sucked me in more than any other game ever had to that date in my life. Kain's betrayals and susceptibility to manipulation, Tellah's self-destructive rage, Palom & Porom's self-sacrifice, Cecil's

It took me a minute to see it, but I see it now. HL2 creates some amazing atmosphere, but man is it depressing at times. When I was interviewing for a job as a cop they showed me a picture of a real life headshot (shotgun, in this case) suicide and I will never forget it. I had seen a lot of violence up to that point

Those two for me as well. Whenever I think about video games that have made me emotional, my first thought is always of Celes on that deserted island. I'm pretty sure Cid died my first time through because I remember Locke's bandana on the seagull. Man, that whole sequence—the lost continent, Kefka destroying the

I just watched this week's episode of Wingman's Hanger and they show off some amazing stuff with the AI, as well as a few landing locations and dogfighting footage. They really are on track to make something amazing. I guess that I'm just nervous because in my business life (I'm old) I've seen bad things happen when

That's a good point—that a lot of time in this first year has been learning curve and tool development. I guess just looking at how much time they have put into ships like the Constellation, only to now be going back and basically redoing a lot of it based on new directions and goals for the game. On the other hand, I

I don't know that it's a case of "they are making faster progress than expected" because I think they have an absolutely mammoth task ahead of them and I think it shows in just how long things are taking. As an original backer (and very long time Wing Commander fan) I am a little nervous about how they are actually

Sorry for veering off topic, but Mr. Blonde is one of my most hated (in a good way) characters in all of movies. He's right up there with Commodus from Gladiator and that religious lady from The Mist. I was so tense and uncomfortable watching him in Reservoir Dogs the first time and then when [*REDACTED - Spoilers

I've spent days, DAYS, trying to get GFWL to work so that I can save and play online in Dark Souls PC. I've put hundreds of hours into it on PS3 but I'm a PC gamer at heart and am dying that I can't enjoy the higher res, higher framerate, and "Thanks Obama" mods that my PC gaming brethren/sisteren are enjoying because

Oh man, I may have to back this. Just a few months ago I was very sad to discover that no one has posted the complete soundtrack to WC IV on YouTube (where I find most of my video game music playlists). I had to use some ripper software to extract the audio files from my GOG copy of the game in order to listen to it

I just want to say how much I love Mark Morgan's soundtracks. That is actually one of the things I am most excited about with this game based on the immense enjoyment I've gotten out of his soundtracks for Fallout and Fallout 2 which I had never played until I fell in love, and I mean LOVE, with Fallout 3 and picked

Have you played the excellent Fallout: New Vegas mod "New Vegas Bounties"? They took a bunch of movies (Westerns as well as other genres) and put the villains into the Mojave Wasteland for you to hunt down. One of them was the villain from Shane and when you killed him you got his unique revolver called "Shane's

I really like one of his other Fallout 3 pieces and have been using it as my background for quite a while. Amazing talent (and taste)!

I saw the same thing in the ruins of Pompeii. We took a tour of what was basically an international whorehouse where, because people visited from all over and didn't speak the same language, they had murals painted on the walls depicting various sex acts that patrons could order, kind of like a McDonald's menu...for

That is a very helpful explanation. Thank you!

Should have clarified: I would play on my college roommate's PS2 but I wouldn't allow myself to buy any new systems/games while I was in college. I'm the kind of person that can play for 8-10 hours at a stretch without a second thought, so I knew in order to pass my college courses I needed to limit my access to
