What? That’s an assumption the author made. It’s right in the headline: “Self Driving Cars Will Not Save Uber.”

Yep. You can dislike the company all you want, but at least report about it accurately. These “hot take” headlines are just trash.

That analysis doesn’t make any sense either. Their take rate goes to 100% if they get to autonomous vehicles. The idea that margins will only increase 5% is based on an anonymous source with zero data backing up. They did $5.5 billion in annual revenue. Could they realistically operate an entire fleet of vehicles…

Nothing written supports the claim the title of this post makes except, “Eliminating drivers will “only increase Uber’s projected long-term net profit margin by as much as 5 percentage points,” an Uber worker told The Information.”

So an anonymous source says it won’t help long term profits. But then you immediately…

I had an Element for a little over a year. Yeah, it’s useful and quirky. But it drove like absolute shit, loud, uncomfortable...there really weren’t any redeeming qualities other than the practicality. The back seats are really strange to sit in, because they have to be so low off the floor to allow them to fold up…

This title is so misleading. Saying they're going to make $10+ billion implies that's $10+ billion in profit for Ford. It's $10+ billion in revenue. That's totally different.
