There, you said it: OEMs. That’s where Microsoft makes their money: Selling Windows 10 for new PCs. The customers buying directly was never a huge problem, and the boons of getting almost everyone on Win10 pays off for Microsoft in the long lane.

My fear is that bethesda will keep treating them like so, in stark defiance of their canonical goals.

I sincerely hope they’ll stop romanticising the Brotherhood of Steel. They’re egotistical techhoggers, not knights of the wasteland.

So double hypocrite right at the top there. For Randy, i am pretty much going to be echoing Jim Sterling’s sentiment, since he’s more or less the man getting singled out there: If the sandcastle is a racket, and is in fact not made of sand, but shit and being sold to people for $60 based on false advertising, i

Not hard to imagine, considering their legendarily shitty business practices.

Thanks for a fantastic piece of writing, Patrick. Keep up these sorts of in depth features for the forseeable future, and you’ll end up as game journalism’s Glenn Greenwald.

With Nixxes, Squeenix’s PC porting house, being among the finest.

I take that as a sign DICE and EA learnt their lesson from BF4, though the strict sticking to the movie release schedule might still muddle that.

At least on the PC side they’ve been very good about eliminating the shouting tweens in the Battlefield games.

Do we really know nothing of the PC Gaming Show? I do believe Deus Ex will be on show there as well, as i believe RPS mentioned in past times.

One would hope they take some of the lessons learnt here and implement them into Steam itself.

I really appreciate that Battlefield 4 remains a seemingly bottomless barrel of great clips.

Quick spot of pedantry here: We’re talking about Cryonic suspension here. Cryogenic means “The science of making stuff very cold”, whereas Cryonics is that as pertains to medical uses.

Not a single new thing to be seen. This screenshot might as well be a promo for F3 or New Vegas. Let’s hope the trailer brings something new to bear.

I disagree with your review bombing suggestion. Should telling the world what a shit game you just played (For example, one of the million shams on Early Access), preclude you from asking for your money back on said shit or indeed non-functional game?
