“I am..Mononucleosis.”

I’m glad that Rapsody wasn’t overlooked, and I’m not surprised that Little Brother was. But if LB is not on a metric fuckton of year-end lists, then those people should stop reporting on hip hop.

I like the Murs record.  But, it will get overlooked like a lot of his previous ones, I’m sure.

I really, really wanted to like this more than I did.  It’s definitely a great record, but it just didn’t make me want to replay it.

The outro with Marco Polo’s mom?  Legit made me sniffle.  I think I actually like The Falling Season the best out of Ace’s second act, but this might surpass it.

Skyzoo’s “In Celebration of Us” is by far my favorite release of the year.

Same, along with the Apollo Brown/Joell Ortiz record.

That Ghostface project is WAY better than it has any right to be, as a “lost tapes” project.  I think I looped it three times before putting on anything else.

They did a brief tour earlier in the summer, so I heard a few of these live while they were on the way to master them, and they are solid live tracks.  They’ll be back this way in October, and I’m eager to see them again.  And this record did sound better to me on the second and third listens.

I went with We Were Promised Jetpacks and the Von Pea/The Other Guys EP.  Both solid B or B+ material.  I got a few tracks through Low, but I just wasn’t in the mood.  I’ll try again one morning.

FNM/BYT is also my favorite, followed by Del/Dino Jr, and I’ll still stand by the Helmet/House of Pain track.  It’s great on a running playlist, for sure.

Indeed - Psychic Warfare may be my favorite to this point.  Although this one is a step back, it will still get repeated listens from me.

I have no idea where it came from originally, but I had a friend throw a random IG post on my feed recommending a new record from someone named D.Vincent, and it’s got some good funk/soul to it.  Worth a listen, for sure.

I have it a little above OK, but not great.  Fairly good?  I do hope “In Walks Barbarella” becomes a live staple, but with that horn section I don’t see it being likely.  Also, I enjoy a song where the lyrics are essentially a recipe for crab cakes, but it’s sung in the same way Ted Nugent would sing about a pre-teen

Not Crow Milk?

I absolutely loved this season for many of the reasons already articulated, plus one more:

Carmen was easily my favorite character in Season 1, and “I did a drug!” may have sealed it for Season 2 as well.

Not to mention the authentic MTV-font title card when the video started.  Amazing.

Enjoy the show - I’m hoping StubHub sellers come down on their prices for tomorrow night.

I mentioned that to my wife this morning - it goes in the rotation, for sure.
