Overly nice driving is dangerous driving.

36 percent of Americans side with striking workers, while just nine percent are backing GM, Ford and Stellantis.” So the correct answer is that 55% of Americans don’t care at all.

Ah yes, if Ford can cover the cost for 30 people to go test product in Africa in support of a super popular and profitable product, that’s an obvious indication they can also afford to give 57,000 employees whatever their heart desires

Glad they’ll get to afford new cars. Too bad nobody else will be able to by the time they’re done.

If a significant portion of the new-car-buying populace adhered to the 10% rule, I’m pretty sure automakers would be bankrupt. That’s partly why loans are up to 96 months now.

Drivers who don’t use cruise control: Please use the cruise control.

For reference, Costco’s CEO, generally regarded as a good value in pay to performance made around $9 million in total compensation ($1.2 million salary,  balance is stock etc.) against a $40k average salary so 245x employees

I still don’t understand why, in this particular instance, both the president AND the former president feel like they need to “show up” for the striking workers. Trump was staunchly anti worker, and Biden has been wildly inconsistent in his messaging/actions regarding unions.

Careful with using math and logic around the internets or you’re going to get accused of being a corporate shill. CEO’s make an easy target but giving everybody in the company an extra $10 a week isn’t going to solve anything. The union should be hammering profit sharing increases because like you said they’re all

GM did profit share that $13B, by more than you indicated. That’s my whole point, the narrative makes it seem like they didn’t, or that they don’t, or that the UAW workers don’t get anything when GM does well. When was the last time you got a 22% bonus + 10% pay raise without a promotion?

Should they pay there workers more? Yes. Does that mean the automakers are paying poverty wages? Absolutely not.  And going that route is how you lose people in this argument.

When are the diesel generators used? My guess is that its surge capacity only . Can you imagine what kind of a load 98 EV’s charging would take? Even if we assume a relatively slow charging rate of 100 KW you are talking about 10 MEGAWATTS of power. Allow me to illustrate 10 megawatts of solar.

F1 probably could have come up with a different name than “paddock” for the garage area

If we can include motorcycles then there’s the H-D CVO Road Glide Limited at $52K MSRP!

Tire tread is there for a reason.

This asshole needs to learn about using the right tool for the job.

Its pains me to think you could have had this same car in the late aughts for 60k- to 80k depending on miles and condition.

Related, a detached garage greatly reduces the amount of noise that gets into the house, from the loud stereo, to the compressor running, and especially my language when I’m fighting with a stuck bolt or something (I have kids).

There’s also no shame in buying a car instead of lifestyle vehicle.
