I still find it comical that everyone is mocking the Japanese (the masters of playing the long game) for not diving headfirst into EVs like everyone else. Maybe, just maybe, there’s a reason...

Hear that?
Anything that looks like it should be a touch screen, but uses a console-mounted joystick.
Nobody with a median income is buying a median priced new car. That is not how it works. Not many people of merely median income are buying new cars *period*.
“superbad feeling”
No more Ford ads? How is Dennis Leary supposed to feed his family?
Hell, you are in Chicago, what do you need a performance car for?
Probably. But many of those in the know would buy this for the 5cyl sounds in a sea of turbo 4s.
At this point is it even Ford’s fault? They issued the recall, and the customer went to the dealer to have it fixed, but they half-assed it. Now if the recall only specified that the driver airbag gets replaced, then that’s on them. At least that’s my thoughts.
The solution is simple. “Carry-on” should mean you have to literally carry it, not roll it. If your luggage has wheels, it’s not carry-on and has to be checked.
Instead of paying to check a bag, we should now have to pay to stow a bag in the overhead bin.
In a world that seems to be increasingly filled with inescapable dread closing in from all angles, it’s nice to be reminded rich people are having a blast.
I’ve driven everything from a Model S to a Bolt\Leaf, and none of them were ahead of any of MY ICE cars - I have no idea what you are used to driving. I mostly found them annoying in various ways. From wind and road and screechy electric motor noise to idiotic human interfaces. The whole “instant torque” thing is…
people who are really worried about crazy gas prices probably aren’t able to afford a new car anyways, so it’s a moot question of ice vs electric.
The Rivian can tow 11,000 pounds. But they recently raised the prices to crazy amounts. I am sure they will go back down eventually. Everything got really expensive the last couple of years.
I love my Model Y, but yeah it’s not a 70k car. I picked it up with 2k miles for $61k at some Chevy dealer. Long range + autopilot computer equipped.
The trouble is, a Model T was lightyears better than a horse. An EV is not lightyears better than a reasonably fuel efficient ICE car, and IMHO objectively MUCH WORSE than a good PHEV for most people.
FIND ONE. I’m not going to a Kia dealer even if they showed one in stock. The Ford products [ersatz Mustang, F-150, Maverick Hybrid] might be available in 2023. Chevy Bolt - hard to find also. Audi and VW; nope not in stock. I’d like an i8 but I don’t think I could get out of it without assistance. I’ve seriously…
Kind of a sexist take Elizabeth. A few ladies have pined for the little naked man as well.
1st Gear: I dunno... it seems to me Mazda, Suzuki and Subaru are giving Stellantis a run for their money in this area. Stellantis, as a whole, does have some decent BEVs on sale right now particularly in the EU (e-208/e-308). And while Stellantis is late to the BEV game, they do have a proper strategy in place:
