What does the owner normally drive when he picks her up? I am curious how much cooler the Lambo is than the normal ride. :)

Excellent point! Also the owners who refuse to part with these cars further add to their decay and general loss. If you can't drive it or fix it, let the next guy do it, lawn jewelry doesn't do anybody any favors. "Owning" something like that without bettering it in some way is such a materialistic view for something

So all the MLs, GLKs, GLs, and soon to be C-classes, CLAs and so on from Mercedes-Benz are all "American cars" because they are built in Alabama? Do NOT tell zee Germans dat!

Oh yeah, and this will absolutely sell for more than the £2.5 figure we have seen bandied about online or even the $7.6 figure you produced (based on???). This will likely be a true record breaker, and I dare say THE record breaker, meaning the most expensive car to trade at a public auction, anywhere, ever. I'd bet

I'm torn on the Cayenne. We had one in the household and while it was built extremely well and handled magnificently and confidently in accident avoidance situations, the thing also felt fragile in odd ways.

While not my favorite Ferrari, that would be the 512 BB which is also strangely maligned, I do also like the Mondial AND the 400i that was also disparaged in the article. Maybe we just need to start an unwanted Ferrari haters club and buy all these up then just wait for the prices to rise, when were 200-years old.

Seeing that I'm terrified of flying (well, crashing rally, I love flying) I'd say any of those commercial jets that have only one engine on the tail. I need AT LEAST one backup!

Maybe Casey Affleck, but that's fine.

I was digging around thinking this may be from Rudi Klein's collection so thanks for clearing it up.

Many drivers are assholes, but you would likely be too if you found such massive worldwide fame, wealth and success at such a young age. It's not right but it's true.

Bands don't even get refusal rights for the cover art for their albums if they are signed to a major, I know, I used to work A&R at a label. There are actually a million little ways they screw bands over that most bands are totally oblivious to, which is why I left that gig. There are better targets for your rage.

"I may not agree with your choice of automobile, but I will defend with my life you're right to drive it" would be a much more Jalop-ish thing to say. There are plenty of cars I never had an appreciation for until I chatted with owners at car shows and such, and that's exactly how I got into some of the marques I now

So is the inner metal ring a cast piece so it breaks, a safety mechanism of sorts in a truly bad accident? This would make sense.

The driver is lucky if he didn't also break his wrists, he never let go of the wheel even when it was apparent he was going to nail the tire wall. I also would love to see thought bubbles with what was going thru his mind as that rig drew in closer and closer like the runaway ship scene from The Lost World. Great vid,

This totally reminds me of all the early Ralph McQuarrie designs that later morphed into the Star Wars characters we all know so well today. The original sketches had a rawness that was, for better or worse, lost in the final production versions. You know what would be fucking amazing? If Disney/JJ Abrams did a remake

I love these but opted for a W111 coupe so I can bring friends along. The SL uses the same mechanical fuel injection system as developed for Luftwaffe fighter planes as my car has, tho it is improved in the SL by having one plunger in the injector pump per injector, whereas my car uses one plunger for every three

Great work on this one Patrick, we were planning an article on this one too but glad to see it handled so well. The Spielberg guy is just laughable, so we planned to contact his Amblin production office and see what he had to say about that. If the BBC doesn't have the power and resources to run these guys out of

Torch, I never read the byline on these articles before I indulge myself, yet I tend to predict with amazing accuracy what stories are yours almost immediately because of your unique style, for example, "venison-flavored gum."
