They wouldn’t do it if it didn’t get attention

He’s on the half dollar / 50 cent coin.

That’s an idea that would make it a little better, but it’s still all speculation until they actually show it.

Correct!

Pretty sure Cisco directly referenced that with the line something along the lines of “and we all know a pissed off super intelligent ape that escapes captivity ends well for the humans”

I have a feeling he might fill that role here too even when Eiling is not involved. Which would be excellent

If this were a more cynical show, I might suspect that was Coulson giving Gonzales just enough rope to hang himself. He’s been an impediment to SHIELD since revealing himself and even in that advisory role was still a danger.

*coarsely, ugh

You’ve pointed out the trigger exactly — before, Hydra did not know where they were hiding. Now SHIELD not only knows where they are, but then proceeds to walk in saying they want to study everyone “for your own safety.”

Ha, yes, that was exactly what they were doing, trolling the fans that think they’re LMDs. Especially the note about calling their sister :)

I don’t remember Coulson saying he wanted to catalog them, did he? At the least, he wouldn’t have presented it so coursely, and not replacing Coulson (who Cal said could be trusted) with Gonzales (who Skye indicated she did not trust) would have had a better outcome. And unlike Gonzales, Coulson actually can empathize

Also factoring into her reaction: SHIELD had changed the terms of the deal before they even began negotiating by replacing Coulson (the only one that Cal believed could be trusted) with Gonzales (who, by Skye’s reaction to his appearance, could not be)

There’s somewhat of a spoiler for a cool moment from the movie.

I gotta say that I don’t think Jiaying’s response was out of character at all. She was presented with yet another group of outsiders who wanted to catalog and study her people. The initial approach from Hydra may have not been all that different (before they kidnapped her of course). All this on top of Gonzales’ clear

You’ve summed up my thoughts about this perfectly.

I like the way you think

Barbara has been Gordon’s niece in the comics since 1985. His brother died of alcoholism and he adopted Barbara as his own daughter.

They showed several episodes back that he likes birds! He has a coop in his back yard.

I wish it had been shot that way. The writers don’t seize opportunities like that to make Gordon look competent. Instead of seeming like he planned it, the episode made him look like a fool that doesn’t think things through.
