A lot of folks forget, but these long-running Nintendo franchises have been around forever because they have good core gameplay mechanics. I haven't played it myself yet, but I'm willing to bet that the game is intrinsically fun, regardless of whether or not it has the Zelda name attached.

I watched this whole thing and the spurious, completely absurd arguments from a white male point of view made me ill. It would take too long to refute each absurd point (from the idea that whether violence in games impacts society or merely reinforces and reflects it still being insanely worthy) to the idea that the

Okay, I agree that you shouldn't share super super personal information, but why should I have to hide that I'm a woman? I don't immediately blurt it out but sometimes it comes up, and I shouldn't have to fear being immersed in communities for something that would be obvious to a random passerby.

HERESY!!!!!!! ALTTP is the best game ever made. SO much nostalgia as a child, so good!!!! I play it once or twice a year since it came out back in the SNES days and I was a kid. BEST GAME EVER MADE! lol And I think every Zelda after it feels as a sort of rehash of this formula. At least OOT the most acclaimend game

Although LttP is my favorite, I can respect your feeling towards LttP. I absolutely hated Twlight Princess, it was like eating bad food but still managing to swallow it.
What I don't understand, is this: "It was hard to tell where you were supposed to go, and when." It's no fun knowing when and where, I think a Zelda

Not being a jerk, but I just find this to genuinely be interesting. You found the NES games to be good games, but felt that LttP had no sense of direction as to what to do next? The originals, as were a couple of the GB/GBC games to an extent, are completely directionless and nearly impossible without either outside

Haha, holy shit, I missed the part where you said TP was your favorite Zelda. You really are clueless about fun! Did the gritty dark realism really speak to your 14 year old self? Did you listen to blink-182 and cut yourself while diving into the most dark and brutal world in the Zelda canon?

This post is such BS it's actually funny. SO as a kid you were able to deduce that the game is "tedious" and "a mess"? Riiight...we get it, you like OoT more. Neat-O.

LttP is the best in the series IMO. In the Dark World, I always exit the first temple after getting the hammer because then you are able to access other areas of the map sooner. I'll get the hammer, go to the village, go into Blind the Thief's lair, get Titan's Mitt, leave, and THEN get the second level Master Sword

>Doesn't like LTTP or MM

Damn, is this a great post to start off some Sexism in Gaming Bingo! Players, grab your cards!

the designs aesthetically look nice BUT DEAR LORD THIS PAINS ME GREATLY. THOSE 'UNIFORMS' CANNOT PROTECT SOMEONE OR EVEN CAMOUFLAGE SOMEONE CORRECTLY. This screams 'HEY SHOOT ME IN THE CHEST'

HALO does it pretty well.

Why is is so difficult to make female soldiers look like they do in real life when it's so automatic to make that happen with male soldiers?

Am I the only guy who wants practically dressed female characters? I shouldn't feel like a minority on this but I do.

Or...how about sexualising neither?

Sounds good! Can't wait to pick it up tomorrow!

One is certainly worse than the other, but that doesn't mean the latter is invalid. Misery poker benefits no one.

The idea that because X is worse than Y, we can't do anything about Y until X is fixed is...well, a false dilemma. It presumes we're only capable of worrying about or dealing with one thing at a time.

Again,

Because it's the first playable woman in a series that has been around for about 20 years?
