She's not lying about being a fan though, all she says is that some video games are too violent for her. Like I said I have said similar things about certain games in the past and I've been gaming for a very long time.

Not really because I think 'marketed specifically to girls' would mean just that, the marketing. The content of those games I listed appeal to women and men, they are gender neutral so putting an ad in cosmo for Skyrim with a brave Nord woman taking on a dragon wouldn't be much of a leap.

More boys showed up to events and bought magazines*

You said that gender neutral games won't sell as well as ones made for guys.

Ah right I wondered where I read it, It's a mac they were going to buy her apparently which isn't as bad, but still.

No I'm saying that the games themselves are pretty gender neutral. Compared to something like The Witcher. Those games I listed are insanely popular with female gamers. Bioshock Infinite is pretty gender neutral as well as some of the Assassin's Creed games and most Nintendo exclusives such as Zelda.

According to my army medic friend he used tampons quite frequently to shove into bullet holes. There is historical speculation that they used to be used to clean muskets before nurses realised how useful they were.

. 'If you can show game developers that making "gender neutral" or "girly" games would increase sales to women enough to compensate for the loss of sales to men'

I read something on tumblr where a guy had overheard a woman in a coffee shop say 'Well Becky want's this Skyrim game for christmas, I might just get her a hairdryer...' it's horrific to think about.

It outsold the recent Batman film at the box office so it seems your experience wasn't representative. Also people calling it a 'chick flick' just because it has a female protagonist need to go die in a fire.

This article could have just said 'Because it's awesome' and that would have been enough.

I never liked them when I was little, but I like like the modern version. I had He-man toys.

He's not just saying that the Nerevarine is though, he's saying all of them are.

Well they made a design mistake in saying that because then it invalidates the characters of a lot of people. They should have left it vague.

I'm just sick of guys taking away the characters we do have just because they are too sexist to imagine a female hero.

Because that's totally what everyone is suggesting -.-

Well until we are 'made aware of them' I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't just decide that my character is the invalid one, thanks.

I don't find any of those arguments compelling. They are rpg's where you pick your own character there's no such thing as the 'canon hero' that's the whole point.

Why are they 'definitely all male' is it so hard for you to imagine a heroic woman?

You must be incredibly bored of white 30 something men.
