Oh, I get circlestomped all the time here. I wish I had that power to my advantage.

Well, then, we agree to disagree. I feel like grinding is a waste of time personally, especially with my enormous game backlog.

I fucking love Nier, that's an example I forgot. Truly a shining title.

So...they're not zombies...but they're zombies.

Parasite Eve, Galerians, Final Fantasy VIII, Shin Megami Tensei Digital Devil Saga, Shin Megami Tensei Soul Hackers, even Drakengard (maybe even Xenogears!) to an extent as a deconstruction. There are more I can't think of at the moment.

"It would appear the greatest factor in the lack of innovation is how... Vocal the JRPG community is about any changes."

Oh god, please tell me you're grossly exaggerating...

It's true that I've played a lot of JRPGs. Maybe too many cooks spoil the broth in this case?

To me, grinding's an archaism which really doesn't need to be in modern games. It was used to inflate playtime to begin with, and with (in my eyes and the eyes of many people I know) the ideal modern game length being 20 hours, you can really trim that fat and get a much more tightly paced experience.

Reinvention isn't inherently bad. Sonic Team's just REALLY BAD about reinventing their franchises.

And you must pay for the Donkey, I presume?

My big problem with Ni no Kuni is, well... sure, it's polished and refined content, but it feels like polished and refined content that is nevertheless a retread. The game doesn't really cover any new ground as a JRPG and is just revisiting the familiar mechanics of the genre for a millionth time, just in Ghibli

If I make a Maya model in 2 minutes can I have a featured mod, too?

My GOD...incredible. Truly, something I thought I'd never see so soon in my lifetime. I can't wait for VR.

Huh, from one hack tycoon to another!

By confirming the phrases she uses as "black", you're essentially using circular logic and stereotyping yourself. This is a fruitless argument.

Erik Kain posted an article on how a SNES game that's getting a "2012 release" really isn't, and that an unfinished prototype has been playable on emulators for a while. He then linked to ZSNES, an emulator, which is perfectly legal. Then, Jason here and Ben Kuchera of PennyArcade started what essentially was hateful

But where is Jay Cee Dentin, in da fresh?

You must've missed yesterday's Twitter scuffle between Jason and Forbes's Erik Kain.
