From a sheer business standpoint, marketing to a demographic is perfectly acceptable. However, if this justified it completely, every movie would be a Michael Bay explosionfest and every book would be a vampire BSDM romance story.

Yes, but they knew that and embraced it. They weren't afraid to poke fun at themselves and asserted that they were style over substance.

Content restriction isn't what I had in mind. More like quality standards. The game reads like a bad fanficiton and that kind of thing shouldn't be seen as acceptable in 2013.

By that logic, EA is immaculate and has never made a bad game in their corporate history.

Oh, the stories for Japanese beat-em-ups are terrible, but they're so over the top and zany that you know they're not taking themselves seriously.

All my recent writing's been internal. And I've actually been comtemplating doing just that, but time constraints are an issue.

Just because somebody's getting paid to write doesn't mean they're good at it (e.g. Stephenie Meyer).

Didn't mean to toot my own horn, meant more to say that the writing in this game is garbage. Guess it came out wrong.

If we're gonna play the proofreading game, you forgot your quotation marks. :P

"worth his salt" means I'm at least competent. I'm not claiming I'm the next coming of Christ, nor am I claiming that anything I do write will be accepted.

You'll have to be the judge of that, of course, but I'm excited to do my best to prove you wrong.

Doesn't change the fact that the game is edgy bullshit written for hipsters who've taken one political science class and think they're on top of the world.

Long have I considered this question.

...am I actually reading this, or has all of the faux-activism on the internet amassed and gained a body?

Dyad in my opinion was a bit pretentious, is what I mean.

I work with code on a regular basis, but I view it as more of a craft than an art. (at least, by my definiton, the goal of a craft is to serve a function, and the goal of art is to communicate).

Do you have a single fact to back that up?

Functional? Yes. Practical? Very. Should it be a standard? In a perfect world, yeah.
