The solution is for people to stop contributing to their respective rumormilling gossip tanks, to put their pride on the sidelines, and to ENTER INTO DIALOGUE WITH THE OTHER PARTY, rather than paint them as a villain. Until all sides of the equation do this, the cycle will be endless.

The single player game is not dead. While all the devs have jumped on multiplayer, they've left single player gaming high and dry, and I have a feeling that there's a BIG audience gap of single player gamers clamoring for more.

While this is a nice alternative, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't make it the only option. As long as there is always the option of owning the physical hardware, I'm okay with that.
