Extreme heat or cold are notorious for destroying Leaf battery life - mostly due to lack of climate controls but also because the quality is suspect. Yes, our ‘14 Leaf is 8 years old with 80% of the battery charge remaining from a relaxed life in Seattle but, honestly, I would have expected losing no more than 10%

This situation has no connection to whether America is ready for EVs. Texas has an electrical compensation system that rewards supply constraints. In fact, EVs could help Texans through these times since they could (theoretically) be used to power a home during blackouts. Unfortunately, one automaker (Tesla) is not

Tax returns ignores the richest individuals that have little or no taxable income. Yes, they still file and may have capital gains and other items to report, but the tax system in the United States is focused on income tax from an employer and not actual net worth. (Unfortunately.)

You are aware that they are not equivalent, right? First, this technology still requires a human on alert at all times - so one has only a human and the other has human + technology. More critically, Tesla’s tech controls the parts of the drive that you are least likely to be in an accident whereas humans must control

I would definitely buy one (assuming it is a real coupe) even if they moved it into EV territory. However, I’m not certain how many Prelude fans are left out there - the sales numbers were pretty bad in 2001. Honda would probably be better off bringing back the Fit to America.

FWIW: Final model year of the Prelude was 2001.

The Prelude shown in the photo is a Type SH which only comes in a manual transmission. The concern listed about the 5th Gen Lude is only related to the automatic which had, in my opinion, a bigger issue of reduced horsepower from the manual — and, from my experience, both issues were way too common on 90's automatics.

Careful. That illustration is likely to just piss him off.

2018 (116K cancellations) and 2019 (135K cancellations) had higher rates than 2021 (103K cancellations). Which is to say, 2022 numbers are definitely higher than what appears to be the average range, but there are years where it is higher.

Context: In 2020 there were 281K flight cancellations which averages to 769 per day to add to 3,000 cancellations in a four day period of time. Yes, 2022 has a lot of cancellations happening but it was notably worse two years ago.

Green methanol is one option - it is starting to be used on new cargo ships. No idea how sustainable, realistic to implement, or “green” it really is, though.

Is it possible to make a environmentally friendly cruise ship? Is there any company out there trying? Many people enjoy the experience of a cruise - maybe they would enjoy it even more if their conscience wasn’t bothering them while they are recovering from the diseases they picked up?

The fine for this violation between 2011 and 2014 amounted to less than the profit of one quarter of their sales - for their lowest sales month of the four years for that truck.

Yup. Visually speaking - Cleopatra is the greatest movie ever made. It was/is worth watching just for that. (Much like Avatar on the 3D big screen.)

Fantastic suggestion — really unique and wonderful (if a bit eerie) sound on their tracks. Thanks for this introduction, Andy.

It is a tie for six states —- all of which are in Australia and part of the Big Lap. Greatest road trip ever - if you have 6+ months (and 4WD) to complete it.

I don’t know who this car is for. If it didn’t have the name “Integra” on it then none of us would even be reading this because it is not noteworthy in any way and I don’t think there is more than a dozen people out there that will buy it simply because of the name.

Counterpoint: Imagine how much better the production version will look compared to this.

2nd: “There simply isn’t going to be enough lithium on the face of the planet”

Yup. We have pedestrian signals in Kirkland that simply do not work, so crossing busy intersections that are a direct exit from the freeway (people driving twice the speed limit) have to cross when the signal says a pedestrian cannot go.
