I don't actually need to add anything. That wasn't the point of my post, it was to show that that argument requires a specific situation, that will work for some people, but isn't some universal truth, no matter how much it is promulgated as such.

Good job on keeping that white controller out of your kids hands!

A quick note. That's not how SLI or CF works in, basically any case. Performance increase is generally in the 30% to 80% range, depending on how well its supported. Especially with CF, heat is a large deciding factor, so performance is even more wobbly there.

Not all wills are created equal. Which is pretty much what my post is about... that very way of doing isn't an option for everyone because of it and ends up costing more than the alternative, since the temptation is bigger and or it is easier justified.

So my PlayStation 3?

By spending more? I'm always bemused by the notion that, as long as you buy enough games, you'll save money in the long run! Because it is so easy to get caught on that hook to justify purchases you normally wouldn't make. Especially when combined with the, because it's cheap mentality, rather than because you

I don't eat during play. Too bad, eh?

If I recall correctly the VAT rate is 20%? That's not exactly significantly higher than neighbouring countries (again, going by memory here). So 49,- should cover it all...

I have a white PlayStation 3, with white controllers and I'm white... erh, wait that wasn't actually relevant. Any-way... having those white controllers is a real pain. You literally need to clean them after every use (you see everything one them!). I imagine the bright reds and blues won't be any better.

Them taxes, they be high and in the price already. I'd expect 49,- to 55,- in pounds.

I wouldn't say novelty, but more inertial if we are talking innovation. Similarly, I'd say that the Xbox isn't innovating, but reiterating (and doing so well). After all, nearly all of what they offer either already exists on their current console or is another adoption of standards set elsewhere in consumer

I'm so happy we have actual roads and paths for cyclists... that looks far too scary, but strangely fascinating!

You should know that the PlayStation brand has my preference by now. So I'd wager this is as close as you'll get to a honest response with marginal base.

Where did I state either was innovative?

Creating hype with a device that is marginally better than the previous one with marginally more options of which most are niche or are minor conveniences is hard.

I suppose you could say they iterated more on their story and thus came to a better position for themselves that they think works, where MicroSoft is more or less winging it.

Didn't MicroSoft try that already last (current) generation?

Oh, that still counts? Are you sure? I mean, if we are going that far back. Good grief, the amount of mud we can pull up either side will just bury everyone.

I got my copy of Battlefield 3 for free (no, I didn't download it) early on and that was game enough on its own merits in my opinion. That said, I would've waited otherwise and bought the bundle (I did eventually do so for 30,-) with premium. But that's more because I only play the game occasionally.
