Fair point, still it was the only situation I could think of that wouldn't require internet, but yet allowed a complete lock of titles. So, it is possible, but as you say not really likely - then again, who would've nodded at the notion that next Xbox would lock out lending and resale two or three years ago?

Publishers and Developers get money for rentals, either by a high buy in price for titles allowing to be rented or a cut for each rental made. There is no point to argue against rentals under the pretense of them somehow taking away money from the publishers or Developers.

As far as I have read, they haven't even said that much.

One could still have to lock their game to their own console, it is obviously more prone to hacking, but locking titles to a console would still manage to ruin the resale and lending of your games, while not requiring any internet connection what so ever.

True, but I wouldn't be surprised if it came to light that publishers pressured MicroSoft to include such an option in their console. Or at the very least requested it.

An argument against used games by someone who fundamentally does not understand the used market. Convincing I find this not. Here's a thought, there's more to the used game market than GameStop.

Yes, a few titles have it, mostly first person shooters (There are others though, like Fuse), but beyond the third and first person 'action' titles there isn't much co-op to be found (And even of them, a fraction have it). Which is a shame.

Sadly it is becoming pretty near non-existent on console as well. Such a shame.

Given that we do not know what either of the next consoles will cost and do not know the fidelity of graphics on the next consoles, I'm wondering what you even base that off.

If they aren't committed to their dress-code to the extend that they want to enforce it, it isn't any more than communicating a preference. No one needs to respect a preference of that kind. It is nothing more than saying they'd 'like' for you to do this or that, just as I could 'like' my customers to speak Klingon.

Just because you'd like there to be a dress code, doesn't mean there is one. And even if there is one, if it isn't enforced, then it isn't relevant.

It's cool. I'm just screwing around. I honestly don't mind your posts, so no animosity here.

The troll one?

Exactly. I'm glad I don't live in Europe, since even if my computer is seized they need to prove possession (Casual clicks do not count as possession even if the browser caches the image), because I've seen plenty of images go by that would be very much in that area. It is pretty impossible to escape from it with all

That was my initial thought too... anyone that roams the darker corners of the internet probably has committed that offence at one point or another.

The Wii's where already forgotten and lost inside the house. The PlayStation 3 wasn't moved from within the house due to transportation issues.

We're at fault, it is due to our lack of diligence that publishers are impeding upon our rights as consumers. Yet we are surprised, bewildered even, that all that remains of our consumer rights is a right to consume.

There's also Tales Anime's based on the games, so she'd be able to watch those, I guess.
