OK, on your suggestion I actually bought this yesterday. LOVE IT. This is exactly what I wanted out of a spiritual successor to FFT. For anyone looking for exactly that, this is what you need.

Oooh! Exciting! For those who don’t know or are a bit on the broke ass side of life with the whole world ending, Fell Seal is going to be part of Humble Bundles next month of picks.

I don’t love that art style, but everything else looks pretty cool (and that job class wheel pokes a very specific nostalgia point). Thanks for the heads up!

Fell Seal is great (though I’m not a huge fan of the art style) as is Children of Zodiarcs. Grand Guilds, which releases tomorrow, also looks like a promising FFT style game.

I was searching hard for a FFT clone that wasn’t Disgaea and somehow this did not turn up. Now that I’ve looked at the screenshots and reviews, I have no idea why it didn’t. Thanks for the tip!

In the same vein, Children of Zodiarcs was a really fun playthrough.

There’s RNG involved though, as you customize DICE and roll them to get stat boosts or whatnot on your turn. It’s also like 5-10$ on Steam right now.
