I agree completely. Sony put themselves in a hard spot with the PS3, but with this they open the very real possibility of BC in future PS consoles (or whatever direction PS is headed).

PS3 games are coded specifically for its cell processor, which the PS4 does not have and cannot emulate. So no, in this case it's not just because Sony is greedy, it's because if you want BC they'd have to add in the PS3 hardware to do it, which would bump up the price.

The popularity of Japanese and Korean pop culture has mostly created a fetishization of said countries' peoples IMO. It's a shallow understanding of each country, and unfortunately many of those people don't seem to want to delve further beyond getting an exotic boyfriend/girlfriend.

Any couple being together is fine if they're both into it. It's just when someone goes prowling for another race for superficial or perceived fetish traits that it becomes creepy. It's not just Asia, to be fair, there are a lot of creepy fetishists about white women and such as well (and other races).

I disagree about the system price, it's the same as the PSP. It doesn't look like Sony is aiming to be the number 1 in the handheld arena, so as long as the Vita comes into its own and has an established userbase, it doesn't need to be super competitive with the 3DS in pricing.

Most peoples' issue with the Vita is a lack of established library and accessory prices (memory cards). The library is being worked on, if the memory cards are cut then the system will sell. The $250 is NOT too expensive IMO, it is standard.
