It is ancient, but think of it this way, full fledged MMOs on handhelds are growing as a trend. Not sure what point I have, I just think it's an interesting tidbit (and given my namesake I don't hate XI, but yeah).

It is massive, and that's why the Vita needs something like it to succeed. I don't think MH will single-handedly save the Vita anymore, for reasons including the one you posted. The Vita needs an original killer app, but how long until we see one is anybody's guess.
