It is “dragon” green...

This is the main reason all my automotive investing has gone to Toyota recently.

You nailed it when it comes to clean energy and infrastructure. That’s where Japan’s been quietly building up a lead that most of us aren’t paying attention to yet. They’ve been retooling Japan’s national infrastructure for hydrogen, and investing in safer nuclear plants that can make hydrogen production green.

Work at a police station and Toyota dealership. Guys, we found the ringleader.

Jawas gonna Jawa

I recently completed a road trip from Boston to Quebec in a Prius—visited a gas station only once (not starting from a full tank either). Also didn’t have to deal with any of the constraints that come with EVs we’re all aware of.

Here me out.

I wonder if you had two plates of aluminum with kevlar sandwiched in-between them if that would stop a sawzall.. probably not but it’s a thought experiment ive had.

Aluminum can clog up some cutting wheels causing them to wear or break a lot faster. There are a lot of crimes that the burglar can take all the time he wants, but getting up under a car and sawing out a catalytic converter like a banshee in the dead of night is a quick in and out job.

Go price out a new Honda Pilot TrailSport AWD. On a 5 year loan at 5.0% and 10% down payment, you’re already at $847/mo. If you want a large SUV that’s a step up from a Honda, you could easily hit the $1k mark.

Ah you beat me!

Came here to make this joke.  Star for beating me to it.

Oh sure. I’m not making excuses for VinFast; just not surprised at all that their cars suck.

“I lease my batteries ten seconds or less at a time.”

At least he had the common sense to wait until he was back in the US, or he could have VinDisappeared.

It’s all about “family.”

(And if there were still COTD, you win.)

Vingroup has businesses all over Vietnam. You might buy groceries at VinMart and clothing at VinPlaza.

Very interesting article. The craziest part to me is the price. at $30k, the low slow speed and ride quality might be excusable. But at $70k+, you’re competing with Teslas, Base Taycans, Mach-E GTs, and other very impressive cars
