No idea about AC4 on the Wii U, but Monster Hunter is great - the HD is tacked on, but looks really pretty at times. The game itself is a blast, and if you (or a friend) have a 3DS you can do couch co-op with it. Or online co-op if you just have the Wii U. The game is great, though I could only sink about 25 hours

I loved Ys: Origin's music. It's how you go back to crazy old 80s music but... modernized.

This and the Lords of Thunder music have a special place in my heart. After all, what other game has Metal for its item shop music?

This actually CAN'T happen in Star Citizen, due to the way the engine and networking code work. They can't have more than 50-100 players in any given instance, so while you can have a large furball, you can't have a ridiculous furball.

Best guess, you'd have something like 200 separate large battles happening

Heavy Rain characters? Huh. Hadn't even thought of that. Ethan's super can be yelling "JASON!" at super-high volumes.

"Look, I really need my engines to be a slightly pinker shade of red, okay? This is not acceptable."

Day one buy, people.

Seriously though, as soon as I heard the concept I committed to buying it. Even if it was awful. If anyone remembers "Sneak King" that was exactly the same feeling.

Gotta admit, I used to think this until I played games actually set in Louisiana/Swamps, etc. Boston (especially a wrecked Boston) has a good deal of potential.

Likewise - I played the beta for this, and while it was interesting I wasn't blown away by anything in it. Combat was serviceable, exploration was present, and there were a lot of "Elder Scrolls" touches that kind of surprised me (such as being able to search literally every crate you see) but it didn't draw me in.

He's not ALL the Jacks. Just most of them. Not "Jack Ketch", for example. :)

Act 2 IS kind of confusing, though - they still throw a lot of new characters at you, and occasionally it's not exactly clear how you're supposed to do something. But seriously, the game's amazing. It's all worth it even for just a few of the later conversations - like a drunken discussion of whether or not Geralt

So, the thing about the first game is that the first act is kind of boring - the story hasn't kicked in yet, you haven't gotten too many neat abilities, and you haven't learned the game's systems. And then you hit Act 2 and it gets a lot better, very interesting. Then Act 3, and: holy crap, the game's amazing.

Witcher

The Witcher 1 was very interesting - the plot is actually pretty amazing. The problem is that Act 1 is kind of awful. They're sorta/kinda introducing you to the game and the system, and there's some setup for later acts but in general it's just not that good.

As soon as you get into the city itself though, whoah. Game

I'd forgotten how totally amazing that video is.

Dodgefights are marginally more interesting than Dogefights, though.

So: Bottom line, the game is fantastic but it doesn't use the tablet for much? Looks like it has some Miiverse integration, which is really all I'm asking for. Well, in addition to the fun. :)

AC4, Knack, and Killzone. Did that Amazon buy-two-get-one-free thing earlier this week, though I'm not incredibly excited about any of the launch games.

Will probably also grab Resogun when the machine arrives.

On one hand, I'm REALLY glad that they're introducing a new way to kill snipers on those really tall buildings. Previously the only real way to do it was to either snipe them yourself, or get a helicopter.

I foresee all the fun new gadgets getting abused, though. :(

We'll see - I don't really mind launch-day patches. The Wii U patch wasn't a big deal, even - took me 80 minutes and then everything worked fine, if a little slowly.

So long as the patch actually resolves and nascent problems, I'm down.

To be fair, Battlefield 4 is a huge beast, and we haven't figured out how to optimize code for the new systems quite yet. Even if they are just basically PCs.
