Congratulations!

They stopped using the Zimbabwean Dollar a few years ago, didn’t they? I remember that only US-$ were used when I was there last fall and that someone said that they only use them to sell as souvenirs to tourists because Zimbabwe Dollars will not be accepted as legal tender anywhere.

Um. There are several small communist parties in Germany - from a couple of dozen to several thousand party members. There’s a communist party in Switzerland (they receive about 0.5% in national elections). Strongest hold in the EU is in France where the communist party has close to 140’000 members and is present in

I had to compare it to the current German minimum wage - and in USD for a full time worker it would amount to roughly 21k. That’s a liveable wage in most areas of Germany, might be difficult in Munich or similar where the rents are high, but apart from that okay.

There need not be any import seal as it is bottled in Germany, imported in casks or whatever. I’m not sure that import seals are a thing in Germany, mostly companies only have to note somewhere on the product where it was made, e.g. there aren’t any seals on whisky or cognac either, even though most of them are

Legally, they are not allowed to call it Bourbon if it wasn’t produced in the US. Europe in general and Germany in particular tends to stick to these rules.

That is still tequila made in Mexico - it’s just imported to Germany and then bottles as Sierra Tequila. Bad memories of students’ parties. Tequila is a regionally protected product and any agave spirit made somewhere else cannot be called tequila.

It’s not made in Germany. It’s made in the US (Kentucky specifically) and just is a store brand. As the discounters are not paying for marketing and get usually very good prices from the producers because of the sheer volume they buy it is really cheap bourbon - think under EUR 10.00 per bottle.
There is no German

Ha. I always tell myself that my collection of glasses to suit different seasons and outfits is my version of wearing makeup. And am thusly excused from having to learn how to apply make up properly (very likely not true).

You should stick to the campsites, don’t go out of your tent, not even for a pee, with less than 2-3 people with torches alongside you between dusk and dawn. Then you’ll be fine.

I wouldn’t go back and rather find a trainer you both like.

Like Fantakuchen (Fanta cake) people make for children's birthdays?

your Japan plans sound lovely! At some point I'd like to go there as well for food, cocktails and culture. But it will be a while before I have the money for a long Japan trip.

No long vacations planned - but going to go to the hills surrounding Alba over easter, to Kiel for the 1st of May weekend, a week to the côte d'azur end of June and a long week/10 days to Sweden in August/September. It feels weird to not have planned at least 2 weeks of vacation for the whole year. There is a nebulous

Looks like a German SchuKo-plug.

It truly is.

Yes, but only small amounts. Not enough for humans to harvest. Keep in mind that bumblebees typically live in groups? hives? of no more than 250 individuals. Whereas bees (the honey-varietey) live in hives of up to 40'000 individuals.

There's a sizable American community in my corner of the world and in summer at the lake the best way to spot the American ladies is to be on the lookout for the ones with all the beach dresses and cover ups.
