@malted: It's super sad even if it wasn't a long relationship. Hopefully maybe you'll come back around together one day? Or maybe not and you can still enjoy that you had that person in your life.

@malted: Yeah, I think it's petty. My best friend of 17 years stopped speaking to me last summer and I still don't really understand why. I don't think she knows why anymore either but now it's a Big Deal and I don't know if we'll ever get past it.

@confirmed spinster formerly angryyoungwoman: Yeah, I told her that she could be a great friend and still hurt my feelings sometimes. I am sorry if I made her feel like I think she's a bad friend because I didn't think that but honestly, I think that her reaction to me expressing my feelings, well now that isn't

@sassyredhead: Ok, I'll fess up. In fourth grade, I permed my bangs. Just my bangs.

@malted: I don't even understand them. Every time it happens to be I'm totally bewildered about why we couldn't just work it out.

@Erin Burr: Orchids. They thrive where it is hot and humid but anywhere else, they're fussy and high maintenance.

@omgitslisa: I took a graduate level class in college and I was the only undergraduate there. It was good for me to be intimidated and humbled a bit. I was kind of a know-it-all (not to say that you are!) and it was really beneficial for me to feel like I really ought to just listen for a while.

@Rimzy: Sometimes it's good to have those conversations because it helps you to clarify your thinking even if you aren't able to convince someone else.

I told a friend of mine that something she did hurt my feelings and now she is mad at me for calling her a bad friend (which I never did). I apologized for making her feel that way and I told her that I was wrong to tell her this over email instead of in person but she's still mad at me. She says that I should have

@rd2uk: I think of 'white people' things as those cultural commodities that are intended to be accessible to the what is presumed to be they typical American and despite much evidence to the contrary, the perceived typical American is white.

@rd2uk: I understand your point but I disagree. Well, not really since most black artists are managed by record companies which market to audiences beyond any specific cultural category. Arguably a number of your examples are packaged precisely to be appropriated by not-black audiences. It doesn't always go the

@Armer Farmer: If you've made it clear that you aren't interested then it's no different from any other friendship. It's not fair to flirt with anyone that you're not interested in if you think that they want more.

@Dorilys: Someone had a cartoon of a cat turning pages on a sign of how many fucks were given that day - I believe it was 3 - anyone have that?

@titchytiny: Why are we like this? I'm a mostly normal person but the idea of talking to stranger about what I want to eat is horrifying to me.

I know that I complain a lot about my neighbors and their "white people music" but tonight I can finally identify it! So far we've had Cold War Kids (some clapping, mostly singing along - very earnestly) and now we're on Counting Crows (much more clapping). I dare you to argue with my classification.

I have super social anxiety about ordering food but I discovered grubhub and it has seriously changed my life. The only time I have to interact with a person is when they show up with my eats and I can handle that.

@curiousgeorgiana: Even better is that sometimes they take him, even if they don't need anything.

@ScotchyScotch: I had a similar experience with croutons. But not croutons.
