This is grotesque and horrible, and as an Australian, I am deeply ashamed of my country’s racism and racist policies against immigrants, particularly against refugees and the indigenous First Nations peoples, both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

What confuses me (and logic is too much to ask for anyway, I'm sure) is that this was a response to immigration, from a man not born in that country, therefore an immigrant. He should have saved good people a lot of heartache, and just killed himself if he was so opposed to immigration
